Wait's on Nelson

I'm a sucker for 50's dinner atmosphere, and this place is everything I love. So many interesting decorations to check out, good food, and down to earth friendly servers. I've gone many times and will continue to.
Try The King- Elvis sandwich. Yum!

Service was too good.
Atmosphere had that sixties feel, even though I wasn't born in that time...aha!

What sets Wait's apart from every restaurant in Nelson is the beautiful character of the owner, a compassionate and caring woman who infuses love into food, service, and atmosphere. Waits is a fantastic retro-restaurant with delicious food, wonderful service, and a more than welcoming atmosphere.

Wait's on Nelson was awesome. The waiter we had by the name of Tom was courteous, served us quickly and was knowledgeable with the menu. He ran the diner as if he owned it! Worker's like him are hard to find and I totally recommend the diner if you're ever in Nelson! Quality food, quality service from Tom, what more do you want!

This place is very nostalgic to me. I really miss the old Waits though when it was up town. I forgot for a while that it was still running but had moved. They have a great breakfast and great selection. Also a very busy place. I'll have to check in when I have more free time, It was full up when I drove down there, Unfortunately didn't have a lot of time. Definitely going to try to come back more often though.

Busy little place. Great location. Breakfast was good. Service was ok, just needed to offer coffee up more often then when you are seated.

Friendly local dinner with fabulous food and great menu. We stumbled upon this place very close to closing time and very hungry but they were lovely and welcoming, and we werent rushed out. Can't wait to go back to try the pancakes! Very tasty! Thanks!

Kind, bright and courteous atmosphere and they carry sourdough bread for toast 😋.

We enjoyed our breakfast here. We had the Corned Beef Hash, with house made corned beef and the breakfast poutine. Really good food at an honest price. It was our cheapest breakfast on this road trip, and one of the most delicious. On a visit to Nelson, BC step away from downtown and visit Wait's On Nelson.

Our experience was amazing. The breakfast we had was delicious and a great price. The atmosphere was great and our server was awesome! Wish I was living in Nelson so I could come again 😊

Waits knows what they are doing and the staff is always super friendly. They have consistently delicious breakfast that is always on point. The toast comes perfect with melted butter, and they have 3 kinds of gluten free toast including cinnamon raisin! The bacon is crispy but not burnt, never floppy and sad. They also have some fine milkshakes to bring all the boys to the yard. Their pancakes are also amazing, including their gf ones!

Was the first time trying out this place , closes at 4pm so go early. Had the sweet spicy version of a Monte Cristo and loved it the wife had a Ruben and said it was delicious too, comes with home made potato chips or fries both were good the chips were best ! Diner is a little run down but clean but the food and free book exchange was cool also! Saw tons of people coming in for ice cream so that must also be a delicious item in menu too! I'd say give it a try, service was awesome from our waitress too!

Great food and even better service. We ordered food and a milkshake for our kiddos to split, and they were kind enough to divide it for us. 20/10 would recommend, we're definitely coming back while we're in Nelson!

Great food, server was busy but did well. This is a great place to come and eat ! Everything we had tasted great. Egg bennies and sausages were on point. The best shredded hashbrowns

Stopped in here on a visit to Nelson.
Definitely has an old school authentic diner feel and we really liked that.
Coffee was good and the breakfast poutine was very satisfying.
My only concerns were that the service was a bit slow but I got the impression they may have been short staffed that day and it was also a bit chilly sitting inside.
We will definitely stop in here again when in need of an old fashioned breakfast.

The staff were very friendly, breakfast was yummy, and had large portions.
