Excellent food in a fun atmosphere! Try the vegan waffles with the avocado, it's a surprisingly tasty pairing, and the veggie sandwich was good too.

An all day breakfast cafe, with a used bookstore attached. Excellent breakfast, eggs, bacon, oven roast potatoes, and house made blackberry jam for the toast. Friendly server and staff. Good coffee with refills. Definitely worth the visit.

Food is just awesome here. Fresh, perfectly prepared from top ingredients and hits the spot whether you're after breakfast, lunch or brunch. A gem of Nelson's food scene.

Story time: we are a group of 9. We wanted breakfast. We went to several spots in Nelson and most were either closed or straight up told us they can't serve such a large crowd. When we came to vienna Cafe, the Manager told us they were busy but if we gave them exactly 9 minutes and 37 seconds he would have a table ready for us. And he sure did! This place is amazing. It's combined with a used bookstore, and it was fun to explore. Food was amazing!

Located in a bookstore, this cafe has delicious breakfast and brunch offerings, including great coffee. Note that when the weather's nice, there's also outdoor patio seating. The spätzle dishes were flavorful and filling, and the drip coffee was flavorful, fresh, and balanced (refills are available). Staff are friendly and attentive. Definitely one of the better establishments in Nelson.

Food is excellent, service wonderful and we sat outside on the patio. Beautiful.

This establishment deserves the Golden Globe award as the Best all around eatery in the West Kootenays...

Cute little breakfast place. Sat on the patio and the young server was friendly and attentive. I got the meat eggs benny and the salad I opted for the green goddess dressing which was amazing.

By and far MY favourite breakfast cafe in Nelson. There is always something different on the specials board, usually quite unique, thoughtful and tasty.
While you wait for your brekky, be sure to browse through the books. Again, there are some unique copies to be had.
A truly Kootenay experience.

Another excellent breakfast. Fresh, local eggs, locally made breads, tasty spiced sausages and an absolutely delightful server from England.
Don’t forget to ask for their house-made jams and marmalade’s.

Super affordable, quick service, and super friendly servers. The veg eggs benny and potatoes was delicious. Big portions and the omelette was great too.

Very good breakfast. Local hot spot. Home like feel. Fair pricing compared to what you get usually in Central nelson. I appreciate how the share alternative opinion papers like Druthers and have a good community bulletin board. Good vibes overall.

It was our first day in Nelson after moving from five hours away. We had a busy morning and wanted a nice brunch, and the Vienna cafe caught our attention on Google maps. We walked in and were delighted to see everyone laughing and eating and having a good time. Our sandwiches were delicious and the server felt like a friend. We'll be going back for sure, for our first cafe experience in Nelson, it set the bar high.

A long time old fav, delicious as ever. same Vienna cafe cozy ambience with bookstore. Lots of dietary sub options and tasty treats.

I loved this place. Thank you Vienna Cafe, what a beautiful start to my day. I will be back. The Traditional Benny and the Sweet Crepe were both fantastic. No frills, just really great food and honest staff. I think some of the other reviewers are letting their political views get in the way of enjoying the food. You go to a restaurant to eat and relax. Not complain and pick fights about world views.

The food is absolutely delicious. The service is outstanding. breakfast was fantastic with the eggs cooked to perfection s and the bacon crispy and amazing. The house coffee is full-bodied without being bitter. The homemade jam they provide on top of their sourdough toast is delicious.

Loved the breakfast. It was very busy so get there early in case you have to wait. We were seated at 11am with no wait. Highly recommend the brunch.
Then we stopped into the bookstore and it was amazing as well. :)

Best breakfast in town!! Reasonable prices, great service, good value...and they allow dogs!! We sat out on the patio in the warm morning air, then perused the book store afterwards.
