Extremely interesting and well maintained cemetery. It is the resting place of 121 victims of the Titanic disaster. I had originally gone only to see the Titanic memorial but then found the mass grave for the victims of the 1917 harbor explosion. So sad to see. I went to the maritime museum and found the exhibit of the 1917 explosion after seeing the grave.

Took a walk through the Fairview Lawn Cemetery to look at the memorial for those who lost their lives on the Titanic. I did it mostly for my son, who when he was a child, watched the movie over and over, and would cry everytime. Such a sweet angel, my boy is.

While I was there I also learned about an explosion that happened on the pier, claiming many lives in the early 1900s. Halifax is rich with history.

There are many known and unidentified victims of the Titanic tragedy buried here. It’s nicely kept and serves as a great memorial to the victims. It’s very sad and allows us to honor those people and to remember them. They deserve to be remembered.

Visited as part of a titanic tour from our cruise boat. Buses cannot drive in the cemetary (which was good) but be prepared for the uphill walk back out.
The titanic section is laid out very nicely, very easy to find. Signs everywhere.
Respectfully done.

Beautiful cementery. For the Titanic memorial there are signs however for the Halifax explosion you need to look for Section 2

This graveyard is very informative. The Graves are in the shape of the ships bow. As they pulled the victims from the water they were given numbers. This is why some Graves have numbers instead of names. Sad but Orientals are buried in one place, Jewish in another and so on. This would never happen in this day and age.

Wow. It was a nice visit there to see where Titanic victims were buried. It was taking a look at Canadian Maritime history. I was so drawn to the Titanic when I was a kid. It felt like sacred ground there.

There's lots to see including the graves of a number of famous Canadians including the Mamas and the Papas singer, songwriter, musician and actor, Denny Doherty, the graves of some 2000 victims of the December 1917 Halifax Harbour explosion, and the war graves of World War I, World War II and Commonwealth service personnel. However, this cemetery is perhaps best known for the graves of 121 victims of the April 15, 1912 Titanic disaster. This is a very peaceful and well maintained cemetery and a very interesting one to visit.

The cemetery was gorgeous and well cared for. I was able to take my time and look through the entire titanic memorial. I would suggest that you take a guided tour though, they have tons of information on the victims, it was beautiful.

Indeed a most hallowed site. The presence this resting place projects is one of great loss, extreme sorrow and tremendous heartache. R.I.P and Godspeed to all of the souls lost on the maiden voyage of the RMS TITANIC, April 15 1912.

A quiet, historical place to relax, minutes from the city center. Although much vaunted for its Titanic section, i find it a delightful place to simply relax under the trees, and get away from it all sometimes. Well maintained, as are all the main cemetaries in the area, and large enough to be a refuge.

I’m from London Ontario and I was taken here by my aunt. It is a Beautiful and lasting tribute to (some of the) victims from titanic. Also, there is a monument to the victims of the explosion in December. Rest In Peace to all those buried there.

I have walked through this cemetery many times and each time, I see someone new from a different time period. Legendary politicians, Titanic victims, a Confederate naval officer, some of the earliest citizens of Halifax. A walk here is like a walk through history.
