Joined a friend here for a birthday dinner. The service was great. The food was so tasty and the portion is great as well. I packed to go home. I loved how the sweet potatoes fries were coated with jalapeno peppers, so it had a good blend of sweetness with spicy. Just the right amount of everything.

Overall great place! Will definitely be dining again. Ambience is peaceful, lighting is perfect, service was on point. No provolone on steak sandwich, burger was a little too charred for our liking. Food presentation was amazing. Portion was more than adequate. Steak cooked perfectly mid rare. Will be back.

Great spot - I live in St Vital, and have never been - a hidden gem! Popped in for some Duck poutine for me and my daughter had the tacos- both were excellent as was the service from Shannon!
Will definitely be back!

Super cozy and yet very roomy dining room and bar that makes you feel like your at somone home.

Great location, comfortable seating, and a great place to go with large group of friends. Spacious, clean and washrooms are well taken care of. I say facing the kitchen and watched the cooks prepare the food, and it was very clean. I would definitely return, especially with a group of people. It’s really well set up for thay kind of atmosphere. They also had live music, which was a nice touch.
Food was good - we had three orders of wings and sweet potato fries. Their drink menu is A+ with lots of selection. Our waiter was great and we talked to another staff member at the end and he was great too. Definitely would return.

On my recent visits to The Wood Tavern, I’ve been nothing short of impressed. This week, in celebration of burger week, I took the plunge into their touted burger, and it was an absolute revelation. Went for Margarita Madness and Taco Week! The Margarita Meltdown is a winner for sure. So fun and really nice even when the popsicle melts a bit. Tacos were messy but delicious.
Also their Red Velvet Cake is the best I've ever had! It tastes like chocolate cake, like the best chocolate cake.

Really great burgers, Salads and soups! I would avoid the fish and chips, the fish was burned and over cooked. However the server was an absolute delight and was funny and caring and had great suggestions on food and drink options. Would definitely recommend it.

The duck poutine was delicious and we loved the live music ambience. The veggie burger is definitely the best in town! The crisp is very asmr. However, the gnocchi was dry and flavourless, the portion was really less as well. Would recommend to visit for drinks and burgers 🍔🍺

I was here for a banquet and didn't pay the bill; therefore I do not the prices. Food was amazing specifically rib that was the most delicious rib I have ever tried. The restaurant's vibe is also good and I felt comfortable.

Stopped in to have a bite to eat at one of my favorite places, the bar manager recommended the wood burger and it was absolutely fantastic, probably the best burger in winnipeg in my opinion. Plus the mashed potatoes were sooooooo good, I love mashed potaters lol. Can't wait to come again and thank you so much for the amazing friendly service. Keep those jeans high and tight! Much love

We had an excellent meal (steak sandwich and the tavern cheeseburger). The food was excellent. Travis our server was also top notch - very knowledgeable, attention to detail and a friendly professional demeanor. Thank you!

Best beef dip I’ve had in a while. Smoke trout dip appie to share and nice frosty beverage (the Mule) to accompany. Setrvicr matched laid back atmosphere (this is not fast food or a chain that’s trying to cycle customers through). Space is open and noise levels reflect that. They may sit you at long benches shared with other parties. Part of the social charm.

Our Facebook group decided to have a party here for the Jets first game back since the coronavirus started and it was amazing.

The staff were nice and worked hard.

The place looks amazing since their renovations.

The food was great and the smoked Wings may have been the best wings I've ever had in my life.

Extra-We went on Friday night there was a live band at 8pm.
Food- that have a kids menu, several vegetarian dishes and a lot of meet.
Price - fair not expensive

Wow amazing food and the best service too .Brendan was so helpful and amazing too. He made us feel at home and never forgot about us beeing so busy tonight. The music too was a nice added touch. We will be back

The food at the Wood is great, the selection of drinks is really good too. Lots of beer options, cocktail options, and even some fun mocktails! Try the sweet potato fries and the spicy Margarita.

May 2023 update - went for dinner and was still as good as last time. Food and service was excellent.

So delicious and a HUGE space. The spicy marg was not spicy but it was the best drink I’ve had in a long time. Would recommend the tacos!
