Oval Room Brasserie

I have been coming to Fort Gary Hotel, as a matter of fact all 4 of my kid's baptism reception venue and their first birthday reception venue were all held in one of the ballroom upstairs and even our first year anniversary, all occasions were all superb in everyway from the planning of the menu to taking care of our guest's request. But the Oval was no different, the food was delicious, I specially love my salmon, they were crunchy on all sides and top but moist in the inside and the sauce just perfectly paired with the salmon. The service staff was very well informed and attentive. One thing I noticed was that they made suggestions but were not pushy. I like that. The room has that romantic vibe in it. It's perfect for a datenight or birthday dinner. We have already made a plan to come back with the whole family and to try their breakfast next time.

Reserved a table for two for a Monday evening. Service was great and we were shown to our seats right away. The soup of the day was very delicious and the steak and salmon was amazing. The steak was on the rare side so if you can’t have rare steak, make sure to communicate with the server on how you would like it cooked. I highly recommend their Negroni.

I went to Oval Room Brasserie with my dear boyfriend for his birthday. Our night was very beautiful. We almost died on the car ride to the Fort Gary Hotel but it was okay, had nothing to do with the restaurant or hotel. I noticed that parties of two were sat at the walls of the restaurant, on a couch beside each other. Personally, I prefer to sit across from my date, nevertheless the couches and pillows were very comfortable. The look of the Oval Room was very fancy and beautiful, the Fort Gary Hotel is quite a gorgeous location, the ambiance is exquisite. For dinner, we found our meals to be very filling and tasty, although expensive as expected. Our waiter, Eric, was most delightful to have tending to us on our special night, very polite and respectful person. My boyfriend and I will certainly be returning to the Oval Room Brasserie.

We had a very nice experience dining at the Oval Room. We made a reservation for a Friday evening and we’re seated right away.
We had an appetizer, dinner, dessert, cocktails and enjoyed everything. The lamb and salmon were cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive and we didn’t feel like we were being rushed at all. We sat and enjoyed dinner and conversation for well over 2 hours. We will definitely be back.

Words can’t describe how much we enjoyed our evening. Everything was perfect. And I don’t say that about many restaurants.
The black cod was not overcooked as in so many restaurants. My wife loved the slow braised beef flank. And the sauces. Oh the sauces.

We’ve been twice now, absolutely love the ambiance, the Sommelier’s wine choice has complimented our meals on both visits & our server Joanne is always on point, which adds to the fantastic food and atmosphere. The gluten free crackers in lieu of the breadsticks are amazing!! Definitely worth a visit!

Fran is a wonderfully witty and attentive server. Drinks are sublime. Cheese and charcuterie board with olives is a must. Renovations are stunning. Loved our staycation. Go to the spa ask for Emily and go to Oval room and Ask for Fran!

I have had take out here before, and today I had a sit down. The burger on take out a while back was great, and the manager Pauline helped me out tremendously although the dining room was full. I was so thankful.
However, the meatloaf I had today was awesome, actually the whole experience was elevated maybe not so much by the meatloaf, great taste, but more of the atmosphere and the people that worked there. I was greeted by Fran, a very pleasant person and a great server. She said she would look after me, and boy, did she! Not only did she put me in her favorite spot (ask her why that is), her recommendations were on point, everything from the margarita to the dessert, and who will ever forget the meatloaf wine combo?! Everything was absolutely wonderful.
Would I recommend this place? You bet! And I will be back, for sure!

Went for my birthday last Friday. It was a really great time! The service was phenomenal, the renovations really modernized the lounge, the drink menu is FUN to explore, the food was delicious. We tried the burrata, mussels, oysters, pickerel bites, a steak, and the profiteroles. Everything was delicious. There was still so much left to try!! We will be back.
PS. my partner said the steak was the best he has ever had.

Beautiful, elevated, cocktail and dinning experience at the Oval Room Brasserie located in the Hotel Fort Garry. Stopped in for impromptu cocktails (Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club in Lowell level) and small bites. We didn’t have a reservation but were easily and amusingly accommodated by the lovely hostess.
Ambiance is of fine French decor. Elegant and vey comfortable. Cocktail book was extensive; you’d be hard pressed to not find something of your liking. This gin aficionado tried truffle gin and it was fantastic. Who knew?! Thoughtfully curated cocktail menu and dinning menu. Service was excellent, witty and entertaining.
Pickerel bites and mussels were well seasoned and delicious. Both prepared well. I have not had a terrible meal at the Fort Garry EVER. Should be on your dinning and cocktail list in Winnipeg.

Top notch service from Bev, and a delicious breakfast of locally sourced Eggs Benedict Florentine. The ambiance is unforgettable. Possibly a bit overpriced, but it equaled out to undercrowded, which helped with the good food and service.

Always happy to dine at the oval room. Great service and food is worth the cost. Well crafted drinks.

A special date. I can't find the words to express how truly stunning the dining room is. The architecture is like no other restaurant in Winnipeg and there are no words to fully express my admiration of the atmosphere at Oval Room. The prices of the dishes were on the high side—to be expected. The mains are a la carte, and sides were pricy too. Regardless, the food was quite tasty and the gnocchi dish left me feeling full. Service was kind and fast, a little rushed, but satisfactory. This restaurant is definitely a special occasion spot and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a very special date night out.

My wife and I had reservations for dinner but we found that we would be unable to make them because of a late running concert. Staff were extremely accommodating and we got there with only 15 minutes to spare before the kitchen stopped orders. Despite that, we were told to relax, to enjoy our meal, that there was no need to rush.
We both ordered fish and chips which came out quickly. Food was delicious with huge portions and service was excellent.
I can honestly say that we haven’t been to the Fort Garry Hotel in years but I would definitely recommend. We’ll be back!

The restaurant was beautiful! There was so much character! The food and drinks were also amazing! What stood out to us was the exceptional service by our server Fran. She was very personable and helpful all around.

Later on in the evening, we returned for cocktails. While on her break, despite not being our server, Fran checked up on us. This level of service and personability is very rarely seen.

Yes the food and drinks were great but it's hands down due to the service that I would recommend the Oval Room Brasserie.

I went here recently for dinner with friends and it was a great experience. Good service, good food, nice atmosphere. Somewhat pricey but generally good value for the experience.

The best burger ive ever had. Done just right and juicy. I had Joanne as a server. She w as very knowledge able about the wines as well the food. She was friendly , polite and went above and beyond.

I love the ambience and looks fancy and seats are comfortable. The staff and servers are awesome and friendly. Love their old fashioned drink which is peanut whisky. I had the meatloaf and fish fry too. Both were so good!

My girlfriend and I went here for our Valentine's Day dinner the other night. We both very much enjoyed ourselves! If you're looking for a fancier place for dinner with great service, I recommend this place!
