Westwood Inn

This hotel is just far enough to avoid the in city drama, has a good view and is quiet. Richard is very kind and very welcoming as is his wife and staff. It is very family orientated and safe. If you have any concerns they address them right away and do their best to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

My husband and I work on the road for a living and Westwood Inn is the perfect example of the motel we always search for. Do not hesitate if you are thinking of booking, Richard will take care of you! He's a fantastic host, always looking out for his guests. Cheers Richard!

We were evacuated from Edson on Friday June 9th and we were in desperate need of a place to stay on short notice. I called a few places and felt blown off almost immediately when speaking to whoever it was over the phone. So as a last ditch effort we tried this place, I was greeted immediately with kindness and told there was a room available that would be fine to have my two dogs, cat and 3 kids as well as my wife and I. Richard was so caring and kind same with his wife. Probably some of the nicest people I've had the opportunity of meeting. They treated my whole family like gold, the room was wonderful as well. He made our stay comfortable and we didn't go without anything. He even made dinner for the entire place the Saturday after we arrived and it was incredible. Thank you so much for understanding and caring during our time of need. You both were lifesavers!

What can I say... absolutely amazing service. I got a room because my dad is in the hospital(I'm from edmonton, I travel to drayton every second day to see him) and his birthday had arrived. While checking in, the kind gentleman listened to my sad tale, and gave many kind regards and well wishes towards my dad. And then went ABOVE AND BEYOND any expectations I could have had. He put me in a beautiful suite, without charing me more than I had already paid online. Moved me from upstairs to a air-conditioned room. The kindness I received will stay with me for the rest of my life. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND A VIST!

Great place to stay!! Richard and his staff are incredibly friendly and helpful!! Room had everything you'd expect and was clean and quiet.

My family and I recently stayed at the Westwood Inn in Drayton Valley for 10 days. Our stay was wonderful! The owner of the Inn was one of the nicest people we have ever met, and he went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. The rooms we clean, comfortable and made us feel at home! It is an amazing pet friendly hotel!! I would highly recommend it to family and friends!

This is certainly not the kind of place royalty would stay but then I'm not royalty. I'm just a regular everyday kind of person and my expectations of this hotel were definitely exceeded. Excellent value for my money. Room was clean and spacious. Friendly staff. Quiet location. Nice breakfast options included. Why pay higher rates because of an attached swimming pool or fancy restaurant if what you really are looking for is a comfortable, clean place to spend the night? I stayed for 2 nights and would not hesitate one bit to return for a future visit.

Fantastic experience. The rooms are beautiful, clean and affordable, the staff were so generous and treated us like family. The kids got their own room no problem, the head honcho Richard played a few rounds of foozeball with them and even cooked breakfast for them both mornings we were there. He also upgraded our room to the jacuzzi room for $10 more. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back!

For the price point, this place is great. I came during Covid, in Feb 2021, so can't speak to amenities outside of the room, but everything to do with the room was great. Free parking, free fast wifi, and as I was on the ground floor, there was a separate private entrance directly from the parking lot to my room. Visually the room was perfectly clean, the heater worked fantastic, and there was no smell in the room, or rest of the areas. The service was lovely and personable.

Richard and Janice are as good as gold. Since they took over managing it, the place is better than ever. They keep everything very clean and care a lot about who stays there. They are fair people, but definitely not pushovers. I recommend this hotel over all others in Drayton Valley.

They have several Jacuzzi rooms with king size bed and kitchenettes for straight up the absolute best deals I have ever seen in my life-(even before the crew discount!)- in Drayton or anywhere in Alberta.
Have stayed at almost every hotel/motel in Drayton Valley and now wont stay anywhere but here.
Massive parking lots, with 0 clearance issues, that were able to easily accommodate our trailers, work trucks and big rigs without having to Austin Powers your rig around with a 500 point turn like some of the other hotels we have stayed at in Drayton.
With bright lights and security cameras around the building which is an absolute necessity in DV these days.
They even have a 2 EXTREMELY long designated turn lanes into their lot, that were long enough for our big rigs, flatdecks and work trailers to wait for an opening in traffic! (lane will literally fit TWO- Turnpike Doubles easy thanks to a local trucking company and industrial area being further down the road after the turn from them)

Couple that with indoor and outdoor exits on their bottom floor rooms and you finally have a place to stay that's easy to pop outside and have a smoke or toke without feeling like society is trying to S*** on you for being a smoker.

They also accommodated me in renting a king size Jacuzzi room with my company paying for a regular room, and I just had to personally pay the remaining difference, GREAT for crews because of this if you looking for the extra bit of comfort when you are home for the day, or looking to bring a local lady friend/bar star home.

They have a few handicap/easy accessible rooms with a huge shower stall that a few of the other boys took advantage of who don't really want a tub anyway and just prefer the massive walk/roll in shower (assume it would be good for older people/disabled who have trouble with tubs).

Their rooms are a little older, but clean, quiet and super affordable (manager also keeps the split shift workers well away from everyone else which is prime).

The Manager (Richard) and his Wife (Janice) were very friendly and more than helpful with telling me which places are good to eat at, and which ones I might want to avoid.
(Personally I recommend for eating out at Mr Mikes, as its close, quality AF and is fortunately only a quick stumble distance away or less than 30 seconds down the road, but you've got a lot of options and they provide the restaurant menus in the front office even)

any issues or special requests we did have were met with immediate remedies and helpful compliance by the manager and his wife.

Also- every room has its own heater and air conditioner, controlled by you- felt the need to mention this because I saw a review about this hotel turning off the heat during the day? and I found it hilarious- apparently they didn't know they control the heat- can't fix stupid I guess lol

I cannot say enough great things about this INN!! I woke up to go get timmies and low and behold my car wouldn't start the key wouldn't even turn!😑. The manager and his staff went way beyond to help me out as I'm not from Drayton valley so I do not know anyone. He called multiple people to try and help figure it out and get them to come look at it!!! And he he found someone who helped get the stupid vehical running without charge!!!! I am so grateful for the manager and his staff and the people who he called and helped me!! Aside from my vehicle drama the motel was great nice clean rooms GREAT,GREAT,GREAT customer service! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice cheap motel to stay in if your path ever crossed Dayton valley got to WESTWOOD INN!! 💜 Again huge THANK YOU to the manager and his staff

Friendly, clean, and well stocked kitchen. Nice jacuzzi bath in our room; large bathroom and nice couch. Lower floor you can hear people walking above you.

Great place to stay. Friendly owners. Breakfast in the morning is great. Beds are comfortable. Definitely a nice experience!

They were a little older looking rooms but the beds are nice and comfy.. great service all around.. friendly owners.. great atmosphere
