We stayed at Lighthouse cottages in Port Hood. Loved the location and our cottage. The beach was wonderful to walk but to cold to swim for me in May.

I’ve been to Bandon and Sand Valley so I knew what to expect. Excellence in all areas. Golf, service, food, everything should be laid back not in your face (except the golf views), but very accommodating and always ready to help.

This place was spot on and nailed it in every area. The golf is amazing, service perfect always, food excellent and just perfect for me.

Is it tough to get to? Absolutely

Is everything rustic? Yup but subtlety high end like heated bathroom floors.

If you love golf, love to walk, love great food/drinks and atmosphere and spend little time in your room other than sleeping this is it. It’s completely perfect for that.

If you want an easily accessible crowded resort with a pool, spa, huge rooms, etc then this isn’t it.

One of the premier golfing destinations in the role and all of the accolades deserved. If possible, fly a private jet close to the golf course because if you fly from the west coast as I did , with connecting flight and long car ride… well, it’s a long day to get there. But fear not if you have a long journey, it’s worth it. Really well done course.

Both the cliffs and the links courses are great. Really great. The caddies? Yikes, had a few over a few days and personally didn’t have the worlds greatest experience, but it was good enough.

The grounds are nice. The swag is great too. Overall a wonderful location, golf course, employee mix, restaurants and time at Cabot Cap Breton.

We were unfortunately only here for golf and didn't get to stay, but the area is amazing. An absolute gem of a place if you can make your way up here (or "down" here, to the locals). One of the best golf courses in the world, and the people couldn't be more friendly. This was a bucket list item for me and was so happy to get to play here with my dad and cousin on the last weekend before the course shut down for the year. Looking forward to our next trip. I'm the meantime I try to tell anyone I can that they need to make the same trip!

Breathtaking is an understatement. The views are second to none. My son is doing a work term here for the summer to get his hours for red seal chef. Chef Malcolm, the executive chef is an amazing person. He met my son and showed Kris around and helped him get settled in. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Without a doubt the most beautiful golf course and establishment I have ever seen!

Absolutely loved our stay.
We stayed in a hillside home. Upon arrival we thought we had to check in over at the links side - you actually don’t have to do that. There’s a spot at the Cliffs in the new bar building to check in and check out.
It’s so gorgeous in there, we did not realize it until our last day, wish we would have spent more time there.

We thought our home wouldn’t have any views, but the homes are so well thought out you can see the ocean from any building! These homes are closest to the driving range. We actually walked down for our golf, but there is no path, we just walked the road.

The homes are beautiful and well equipped. Had a nice card and booze for us upon arrival. Both rooms had a washroom and ocean views with a beautiful ocean view from the main room as well.

Such a great touch having shuttles on call for dinner or golf rides. They were always fast to get you to and from where you wanted to go.

Only complaint is Whits pub. I wouldn’t go there for dinner or food again. Service was slow, food was not great. It was the only meal in our entire Nova Scotia trip we were impressed with. If your just going for nighttime drinks and to party, it’s a good spot!

Loved our trip and will return for sure!

The four of us headed out to Cabot for a much anticipated week of golf. I had been hearing about people raving about Cliffs and Links and it's very rare when an experience EXCEEDS your expectation. Cabot has designed golf heaven! I could not recommend going more. They have figured out how to create the ultimate golf experience, with pristine conditions and jaw dropping views and still create a welcoming culture. I have been to many top golf courses and they feel pretentious, not Cabot! The Cape Breton values shine through, creating a welcoming, relaxed dose of luxury. The golf is perfection and the food is great with surprisingly reasonable menu costs. We stayed in a villa and I would highly recommend it, the experience is undefeated.

Great all around experience. I was at the resort for a conference in June 2022. What a great place to have a business meeting. I didn’t have a chance to play the course as I had too much in my agenda, however, the course looks amazing and there were a tremendous amount of players out on the course, even though the weather wasn’t cooperative.

The rooms were great, we’ll appointed with great views of the course. As well as being very clean and upgraded. The conference facilities, although not tremendously spacious, we’re perfectly adequate for 20-30 attendees.

The real standout here was the food. I ate here 4 times during my stay and the food was to say the least, tremendous. I had lunch in two of the days as well as dinner and breakfast. The entire culinary part of the stay was amazing. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a golf getaway, or a small conference or meeting. We’ll done, Cabot Cape Breton!!

#1 ranked golf course in Canada, and in the top 10 in North America. Two courses, the Links and the Cliffs are hallmarks of this public course. The amenities are fresh and modern, from the reception area to the proshop to the rooms themselves which range from single rooms in a main building, to suites, to entire separate residences you can rent for larger groups, right on the course itself. We played the Cliffs in a driving rain, but were still agape at the views over the water and the design of the course against this stunning backdrop. Some holes are right against cliffs that drop straight down hundreds of feet to the ocean, others highlight the terrain by making you shoot shots over chasms or with dramatic changes in elevation. The course conditions were amazing with fairways completely green and cut adequately, and the putting surfaces very quick even considering the wetness. There are no power carts available for the course and it is pretty rugged, but certainly walkable, but be prepared. We played 9 and called it quits after that for waning light, but would've like to finish the full 18. We had dinner in the restaurant on the Links course and it looked amazing as well. Certainly the fescue and links style of play requires a change in strategy. Overall, for service and quality of amenities and the course and food and cleanliness, it is a 5 star resort. I understand that the brand is opening 4 or 5 other locations around the world which I'm sure if this is the quality to be deployed, will be very successful. The course is in Inverness, cape breton, and while it is on the very scenic cabot trail in nova scotia, it is a long drive from civilization. You can fly to the local airport which will save you 5 hours of driving as well. Will come again.

World class golf! Staff really took care of our needs. Panoramic restaurant had a great menu, and breakfast and dinner were excellent. I recommend bringing certain sundry items, i.e., sunscreen.

Challenging course with lots of features, but at least the fairways are generous. Also, the greens are huge and in great shape, but tough because of the contours. The views are unbelievably beautiful and the service was great! Scott was especially helpful, friendly and entertaining!

Absolutely amazing. Breath taking scenery. Wonderful people. I'm not a golfer but you don't have to be to enjoy this incredible carved gem of God's masterpiece. My husband golf's and as it claims, this is a world renowned golf course that challenges and doesn't disappoint. If you can get a spot which is challenging, don't pass it up. All of Cape Breton is majestic... This is only one of the many places you need to see on this wonderful island.

Didn't stay in the hotel but both courses should be on your bucket list. Carpet fairways to the groomed greens and
Scenic views that can't be beat.

What an incredible golf resort. Stayed here for a weekend, played the cliffs and the links. Rooms are nice but very overpriced. You get over this quickly though as you spend you day on the golf courses. The views are fantastic, the courses are in immaculate condition, and they are two of the top ranked courses in the entire world. There are a few restuarants options on the resort and the food is good. Make sure to get caddies if it is your first time playing, really enhances the experience. You need to book well in advance as this is a very popular destination.

One of best courses I have ever played. We stayed at Cabot, booked one year in advance, had a fabulous room overlooking the first tee box on the Links.

Played all three courses in this order, Links, Cliffs and Nest, which I would suggest.

Breakfast and dinner at Panorama was great. Food was amazing although you may want to give yourself some extra time at breakfast if you are on a time constraint.

Can't wait to go back. Crazy beautiful golf courses, true 5-star+ service. Take an extra 2 days and do the Cabot Trail.

Had a phenomenal time at the 4 person villa at the resort, only had time to play the cliffs during our brief stay. The quality of the service, and professionalism of the staff, on top of the pristine condition of the course were unmatched. Will most certainly be back the next time an opportunity presents itself. Excellent value; every real Canadian golfers bucket list experience. 2 thumbs up & 5 stars!!!
