Coal Miners Cafe

Ordered a burger from Coal Miners over the holidays and wow, very impressive in size and taste. I had the mountie burger with fries which are freshly cut, the burger was so tasteful and big I could barely finish it. I made the effort to eat the burger and have my fries last, which I didn't finish. The amount of food you get for the price is so worth a stop and eat in or take out.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, very typical of a small town and especially Cape Breton.
Highly recommended for either breakfast, lunch or supper and evening snacks.

Tried the (local favourite) CMC Burger ….YOU MUST TRY THIS ONE. Heavenly blend of flavour, perfect home style hamburger and a heap of crinkle fries or salad if you choose. Daughter enjoyed her chicken fingers for once so that’s a win.

Great breakfast nook. Ordered coal miners breakfast with substitute toast. Would have liked the home fries to have been seasoned. If you have kids the adult pancakes is too large for them. May want to stick the kids meal instead. Wife had the quesadilla and absolutely loved it. Coffee was perfect house blend

Service was scrambled looked like they were missing a dishwasher and were kinda upset at their situation which was quite evident. These ladies overcame the obstacle and deserve a raise and a pat on the back.

We had breakfast here and it was amazing. Very generous portions and a nice atmosphere, and located just along the main road with parking on both sides of the street.

My wife appreciated all the old photos and captions that gave a bit of the history of the town.

OMG! WHAT??? I think we found a GEM of a location, no lie! this food was so shokingly good that i was just speachless, the waitress was amazing, she understood that we are on a really tight schedule, so she did her best to accomdate, the burger was so tasstttyy i still remember it ^_^

We have lots of dietary restrictions, making it hard to find food, so when we arrived and we’d just missed breakfast, we were really disappointed. However, they were very accommodating and worked with us to find something we could eat. Good food and nice atmosphere!

They have best food in Inverness. Better than macdonalds and Arby’s combined. Periodt. Such good service and location. Periodt.

You usually can’t go wrong with the food here! The fish and chips were on special and delicious!

The fried Haddock with the luscious mashed potatoes - delicious and really comforting!

I come here every year in October for the Coal Miners Big Breakfast. It's amazing food, and a great atmosphere. I absolutely love it!

Awesome little spot, the food is great and service is very good. Couldn't even finish my cup of coffee before the servers were back around topping it off, no charge refills. Great feel, fun decor as well.

Our large party of 16 gave the cafe about 20 minutes notice that we would be descending upon them. With only one cook and one server on duty, they had set up a long table for us and took our orders quickly on arrival. The food was delicious all round. The server was pleasant and patient as we made our lunch choices. Prices are reasonable. It was very windy that day and the restaurant was a bit cool inside. Otherwise we had a very pleasant meal and I would recommend the Coal Miners Cafe to anyone.

Excellent. Food was great, we ordered burgers and fish, they were large portions. The prices were very good for what we got. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful, and the tables were spread apart well due to covid-19. I would highly reccomend.

Casual and cozy place to eat. They have great fish and chips. Ordered their miner's nachos too and they are reasonable priced. Showed lots of history of the place. Love it!
