Deane House

A few of my girlfriends and I had the pleasure of attending afternoon tea at the Deane house yesterday. The food was phenomenal, tea was delicious and the service was great! The house itself is gorgeous, and when we left, we were trying to take a group photo outside and one of the staff ran out to help us! Great service and experience. I would recommend coming here if you enjoy high tea like we do!

Absolutely wonderful atmosphere here! One of my favourites in Calgary. Food was delicious and very well presented. We did the tasting menu and every part of the experience was worth every penny. The service was outstanding! Overall a really good experience. I am super glad with everything!

As a local Calgary wedding photographer, I can say this is one of my favourite wedding venues in the city! From a photographers perspective, the light, character and set up of the Deane house are all amazing to photograph. We don't have too many venues like this in Calgary which makes it unique. Not only is the location perfect (including all that parking!), but the venue and the staff are amazing to work with. Myself and my couple felt truly taken care of here. Gorgeous venue and great service. Brunch is amazing here..but I will say, you get a bigger bang for your buck with certain brunch items over others.

Pancake Breakfast and the Feta Quiche are incredible, but the other options (ex. french toast) feel like you are missing something (aka, you'd probably need to order a side with it).

Love the space and experience here. A place where I love the offerings, light and ambiance. Def a gem of a dining spot that is mature and I embrace.

Tonight was my second time dining here and Deane House impressed us once again. Exceptional service and the seasonal menu make this a great place to revisit. The sablefish and the East coast oysters are my favourite (might even hold my current title of best oysters in Calgary).

Definitely a hidden gem in the city and a place worth visiting for some delicious food and cocktails. Would love to come back for high tea.

Terrific dinner, no reservations and great service. Standouts were the scallops and the risotto - but everything was delicious.

Amazing place for an 'afternoon tea' experience! Great food that is well sourced for the specific season and a good selection of teas and great range of savoury and sweet treats to go with it! They also make their own clotted cream which was fantastic accompaniment along with the berry compote for the scone.

Always delicious, I was excited to see they have red fife( a heritage grain that grows locally) sour dough bread!

Beautiful venue & setting with great hospitality from all their team members. Our server was ever so attentive in making our anniversary brunch memorable. She was also knowledgeable of the menu (they change it seasonally) and was able to recommend us based on our appetite! If you're a big carb person, their daily assorted pastries is highly recommended--they even have gluten-free options that you're able to split with members of your party with those dietary needs.

Four of us had a great meal at Deane House. We enjoyed a wide range of starters and mains - all excellent, lots of innovation and very well prepared. The service was top class too. Highly recommended!

Wonderful experience. Deane House is a classy upscale restaurant suitable for a special occasion like an anniversary or an engagement! We enjoyed some of the best mulligatawny soup I’ve tasted, very fresh oysters and homemade sourdough to start. I had the bison striploin for dinner and my wife had the tenderloin, both were cooked to perfection and the meat practically melted in our mouths. Dessert was a treacle pudding and a creme brûlée, and they were exquisite!

We had the chef's tasting menu with wine pairing for our anniversary. It was absolutely delicious. When we booked our table we put down that it was an anniversary and when we got to the restaurant they made it extra special, even giving us a personalized Happy anniversary card.

Excellent service. Delicious food and atmosphere. 5-stars to our waitress. She was professional and upbeat. I highly recommend Deane House for a quiet dinner with family/friends.

The weather was beautiful so we opted to sit outside on the patio. The garden surrounding us was lovely and the staff brought around umbrellas for shade. The tasting menu seemed very tempting but we opted to order the charcuterie, brisket, and the tenderloin off the à la carte menu. We finished off the with chocolate crémeux.

The food was very good; I loved the abundance of greens and herbs that they used in both entrees. Lisa was also excellent, she was very attentive, engaging and gave very good recommendations and explanations of the menu items.

Overall we really enjoyed our experience; the Deane house is a tad expensive but I think part of that goes towards the beautiful ambiance. The Deane House is one of Calgary’s must experience spots and I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic food! Chef Jason is a culinary mastermind. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu from start to finish. Bonus that all the ingredients are locally sourced and each dish had at least one thing from their gardens!

We had a lovely server for the evening as well - funny, relatable and attentive. Outdoor dining space had a fantastic ambiance with it being set into the gardens. Would definitely recommend coming here for any occassion (or just a nice meal out).

Excellent food and ambience for a relaxing meal. The chocolate whiskey cake was a highlight, as was the attentive service. My spouse had the lamb entree and it was exceptional. As you can see the food presentation was very appropriate and tasteful. Shown in picture is my chicken entree.

My niece and I came in for some hot chocolate and possible emf readings. Lol. Best hot chocolate we've ever had. All the staff were awesome. They went the extra mile and showed us around. What a cool piece of Calgary history. Definitely recommend
