Sous Sol

The food was really good!! I tried Tartar for the first time and it did not disappoint. The cocktails were yummy and our server was super friendly and attentive. The lounge area is nice with the candle lit tables. The location itself is kind of hard to find, it’s hidden behind another building on Osborne. A real hidden gem! I would come here again!

This was my first time at Sous Sol and everything was absolutely amazing! All the dishes were 10/10. Staff are friendly.

The interior of this restaurant and the ambience was everything. This restaurant is cozy/intimate and perfect for a group of friends or date night.

Highly recommend! I would suggest making sure you have a reservation booked in advance.

Went on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Cool discrete entry and the chill vibe and decor was incredible. I went with a business associate and we both loved it. I had the Sous Sold Fashion and it was so smooth. Zack the server was top not, knew the menu and made the experience fun

Service was absolutely incredible, all staff were accommodating and genuinely seem to love what they do; all are experienced with the menu and have great recommendations. 100% the best service I have received in Winnipeg by far.

Atmosphere is second to none and I was blown away by the decor and overall ambiance. Very picturesque and comfortable. Had fun looking at hidden trinkets throughout the brick while waiting for our dishes.

As for food & drink, we had 2 appetizers, 2 side dishes (however the gnocchi as a main), 2 desserts and 1 main, with 2 glasses of sparkling wine. Bill was around $190 after taxes. Definitely worth the money for the quality and quantity of the food.

Our favourite dish was by far the roasted bone marrow (recommended by our server). All dishes exceeded expectations, there is something for every person to enjoy as the menu is diverse and rotates.

Will definitely go again! :) The experience was wonderful!

Totally in the top 3 fav restaurants of all time in Winnipeg, hands down. Amazing food and drink. The pics I posted: one is the flaming Mai tai drink and the other is their bone marrow . Delicious. It’s an experience. Great staff. Feels like you are in on their secret. Big fans of this speakeasy. We love you guys! Stay here forever please.

Love how intimate and vintage the setting is. From cutlery, furnishings, music, lighting and atmosphere- very adorable! The food was astounding! I personally love and enjoyed their grilled boar chop which was so tender and mouth watering. The flavouring was perfect! Their potatoes dauphinoise was also outstanding, very creamy and addictive! Mmmmmm. Tried their warm olives and oysters too, which were also pleasant. Sad to say, their beef tenderloin and grilled cabbage did not meet our criteria- just not our favourite. Overall, the experience was amazing~ made the celebration really extra special! Kudos to the people behind. 👌🏽

Absolutely the BEST dining experience I've ever received! Our server Max was hilarious, very attentive and absolutely lovely to interact with. He really made my friend's birthday all the more special and made us all very comfortable.

I adored all the decor; restaurant itself is stunning and really transports you to a different time. The food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal, especially considering it was my first time trying rare beef!

Tasty French food and delightful cocktails.
The food & the ambience is something I would recommend for everyone looking to experience something unique and delicious.
The decor, the cutlery, the teapots are all interesting to observe, especially if you appreciate vintage or artsy things.

Very cool, eclectic, out of the way restaurant- sitting in candlelight, with the different styles of tables and chairs, and the decor, it almost felt as though the Addams family could walk in and not look out of place. Bit of a smaller restaurant which made it perfect for an anniversary dinner.

The servers were all very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and 2 hours felt like nothing there.

Would definitely go back, highly recommend trying it out at least once!

Very unique. Cozy, intimate with a hint of speakeasy feel. Very neat vibe. Service was on point.
Bone marrow was amazing. Trout and Tenderloin were excellent. It's definitely a hidden gem.

The only negative is parking. There is not a great selection of easy parking in the area.

Just went for my birthday dinner and had the most incredible, friendly, and thoughtful service from Max! We got the Beef tartare, brussels sprouts, potatoes dauphinoise and the beef tenderloin, and everthing came out warm and we got fresh hot plates so all the food stayed warm!!
Best dirty martini I’ve ever had and great wine selection, would absolutely recommend and I’ll definitely be back soon.

What an amazing experience. From the fancy cocktails to the wonderful environment followed by five star food! The beef tartare was outstanding!

We loved where we were seated. A cozy nook and it was such a romantic date spot. The food was very good. Our favourite dish was the potatoes dauphinoise. Our food was a little slow to come out that evening and they apologized and brought us some free drinks. We hadn't even noticed it was slow as we were just enjoying the relaxed pace. Will definitely return!

Going to Sous Sol for a birthday celebration was a great experience! I unfortunately chose foods that weren't agreeable to my pallette, but my partner chose dishes we shared that I absolutely loved. The serving staff was very nice and attached a candle to our dessert, which was very sweet. The atmosphere was also amazing! Very warm and intimate, and it really captured the history of the building with a twist. I definitely hope to return soon!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Liam, our server, went above and beyond (he kissed me on the forehead along with our bill). I would recommend to anyone. <33

A hidden gem in Winnipeg. The food is amazing. The beef tenderloin was some of the best I have ever had. They also have a great, unique cocktail menu. I recommend trying Jasper’s secret rum punch.

This has got to be one of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever been too. Loved the atmosphere and uniqueness of the restaurant. My husband and I were looking for a place where we could eat copious amounts of oyster, and so we did. We also tried the bone marrow and it was delicious.

Apart from all of this, I was checking to see if someone was in the washroom stall and since the washroom is pretty small, I did in fact get smashed in the back of the head with the washroom door (you might wanna put a slow spring on that thing). Otherwise, the restaurant did give me a desert as an apology so a mild concussion and a delicious lemon tart was a pretty good way to end my evening. Safe to say, the overall experience was literally mind-blowing, I’ll be coming back! (Probably with a helmet)

Such a unique restaurant with AMAZING tasting food! I recommend going here on thursdays for their $1.50 oyster night special. many dishes were ordered but my favourites were the duck leg confit and potatoes. the potatoes were something else.. so so good. Great ambiance and make sure to reserve. one of my new favourite restaurants.

I recently dined at this restaurant and had an incredible experience, largely thanks to Keanna. Her service was exceptional, making the entire meal even more enjoyable. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured that everything was perfect. Keanna truly made our visit special. Highly recommended!
