YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg – West Portage Branch

I called to enquire about the facilities and then had time to check the place out today. I was very impressed with the very kind, friendly and knowledgeable staff! The staff are very passionate about their job and it shows. It has a nice open concept that is all on one floor. Nice pool area with a good size hot tub and steam room which I have yet to find in other facilities in Winnipeg. Seems like they have a good amount of equipment. I’m excited to try it out!

One of our favorite place to go. To go to gym, to play in the indoor park, to play basketball, to do yoga, to do fitness related and especially to swim.

YMCA is good for everybody a family gym too.Clean and staff are friendly and very helpful specially to sir JORGE who help me for my membership and to coach IVAN SARMIENTO who help me to use the facilities the egym, cardio, functional training other machines and answer all my questions.They are amazing people.

I hope they will have babysit/childcare everyday too not only MWF during school year and even summer too.Just made me sad can't workout while my daughter doin swimming class while me looking after my son coz there is no babysit during summer and he is just 20mos old.

I hope they change that for us other mommies can still workout with little ones.

I have been coming to this YMCA for almost 3 years now, and I’ve never had a bad experience! Very clean and tidy, very friendly staff (especially at the front desk!), and a great layout! The fitness studio is quiet and spacious, and the main fitness area has lugs of equipment (both machines and free weights). The membership price point is also pretty good for everything it includes! Definitely recommend!

Great place to work-out and play basketball. The amenities and facilities here are outstanding. I would like to express my gratitude to Trainer Ivan who is very knowledgeable to guide me in my workouts whether with the use of exercise machines or basketball training.

The many programs offered in the gym are inspiring. I finally enjoy going to the gym to lift weights because I’m comfortable doing it myself and if I’m not sure there is always someone to ask . This motivation was due to the lesson I received from Ivan the YMCA trainer. He took time to show me how to use different machines around the gym. The best thing I liked about him, he takes time to explain and demonstrate how to use the machine properly. Ivan You're an incredible trainer. Thank you to the YMCA team for having trainers on site.

Awesome place to workout! Not very crowded and tons of equipment. Staff is very friendly too. Also a shoutout to Ivan! He gave me a very informative introduction on how to properly use gym equipment and he also showed me the proper forms. Great place with good people!

The facilities of this branch are good even the staffs who are accommodating and friendly. Coach Ivan Sarmiento is one of the reliable coaches of this institution because he teach/train his client patiently by sharing all the knowledge he knows in fitness and basketball.

Nice pool, hot tub and steam room

I’m so glad they got rid of that giant play structure and replaced it with a beautiful workout studio! It makes the facility much more enjoyable for young adults like me, who don’t have kids and take their fitness seriously :)
I wish they had a dry sauna instead of a steam room. They’re much easier to keep clean.

Very clean, very kind, excellent gym ever.
Never disappointed if you join YMCA.

This gym is excellent as it has lots of equipment and trainers especially Ivan who helped me in setting up the EGYM. He answered to all my questions and cleared my doubts. I would always recommend him.

I was in ymca for long a long time and it was amazing! And the place is clean and you can workout and lots of programs for kids and for me. I love Zumba and Miji is very kind and always helpful

It's an awesome place to have time for health and leisure in the same place. I hope there were more spots available for my kids to enroll in sport programs.

I've only been a member for a week, but from the moment I first stepped foot into this YMCA I was immediately greeted and treated with respect and dignity! Miji helped me through the process and patiently explained everything and gave me a tour. She was extremely friendly and says hello everytime I've come back. Daniel assisted with my onboarding for the eGym, and I need to say that he was not only very helpful but also very compassionate. I live in a much larger body than anyone I saw there, and he didn't even bat an eye and made me feel very safe and welcomed and encouraged. You don't feel that 'judgement' here like I've noticed at other gyms or fitness facilities. I am very excited to try some classes and the pool over the next few weeks. Thank you!!

Great affordable place to bring your family and get active. Gym facilities, recreational activities and even classes.. You can volunteer, the play place will be open I'm the new year. Come check it out.

Great new building. Fun water slides and the indoor climbing structure is way better than the other YMCAs in the city.
Its a far drive for us, but worth it every now and then for a family outing.
