At Lee Valley Tools, on Wale Road, the staff are extraordinarily helpful, knowledgeable, and polite. I could not commend them too highly.
The Veritas brand of woodworking tools are a thing of beauty and a joy to use.
The catalogue is superb - written by very knowledgeable people. It is an education in itself.

For craft persons, there are brilliant tools to satisfy the most pernickety worker. Look at their specialized vice, holding a guitar neck, for example.
They also have a large section of tools for crafting forest products - be it a log house, or forest furniture, still with the bark on. Be nice to yourself and buy a new axe here, and if it's your birthday, you could buy a couple - they have around 20 to choose from... And one could easily wax lyrical about the two dozen types of wax they sell here. It is the tool lover's Nirvana, and there is also a cheap way in.

Lee Valley have a 'Last Chance' offering, with tools and products that will not be including in the next catalogue. You can get a deal, here, with full warranty.

And finally; they welcome dogs in the store. Predictably, Lee Valley don't give boring dog treats here,. The dog loving staff will offer your dog freeze-dried sardine treats, no less - just the kind of mouth-watering quality I've come to expect from Lee Valley :-)

I usually find what I want online. Get the product number. Go directly to the back counter, and it's quick and simple. They also have a discount room.

I just want to specifically say that Maria from Lee valley provided some of the best customer service I've ever had. She tracked down other associates for very specific questions she didn't know the answers to (they were about very specific tools). Honestly one of the best experiences I've had in a store in a long time. This store is incredible

How does one even begin to describe LV?

It has everything you need and everything you didn't know you needed. Basically the single most magical shop one can imagine. The magical feeling one gets upon entering Lee Valley is akin to winning at roulette on your first try, finding that favourite sock you thought you lost 5 years ago, or entering Disneyland and being tall enough to ride ALL the rides. The only thing that would make LV even more magical would be if they got the Miller dowelling system back.

Fantastic store to find excellent quality products, the staff are excellent and super helpful, they go out of their way to make sure you have the right product for the project you're working on, I have never felt pressure to buy any particular thing but the employees share their knowledge openly and that is appreciated.

Trevor has helped me a few times and he is an incredibly friendly person who takes the time to make sure everything is right.

Since I look online quite often, I was prepared for my purchases.
I bought 3x 16-month Garden Calendars. Always full of beautiful garden pictures, money goes to Charity.

Quality stuff and friendly service. Parking lot is a little confusing and not the greatest especially if you have a large pickup truck.

I went in to Lee Valley today for the first time in probably 15 years. I was highly impressed by the layout of the store, the attentiveness of staff, the ease of finding prices, the convenience of looking up and printing out a list of things you want them to get for you from the back. They have numerous customer computer terminals to help you find items that aren't on display or items you may have seen in their catalogs. The attention to detail in the displays of most of their items in the store is impressive and there is usually a "tester" that is already opened if you want to handle it. If you've never been in a Lee Valley store before, the first thing you have to understand is this store is not for everyone. The quality of everything in the store is top-notch, it is clear that they source their products from all over the world, and pay particular attention to countries that have a reputation for making certain items exceptionally well or where they originally were invented and when the original quality is still maintained today. The quality of all their products is first-rate and most of their items will last you a lifetime. This store exemplifies the term, "you get what you pay for". You might pay $48 for a garden hose nozzle, but chances are high you'll never need to buy another one again in your lifetime. The prices are EXTREMELY high compared to any other chain hardware store or anything else even local. This is a high-end, highbrow, high-class store for people who want or demand the best, and have the financial means to get it. This is not your Walmart of woodworking or kitchen or garden supplies. If you understand this going in, it won't be so much of a shock when you start looking at prices. Keep in mind though, high quality and long life is what this store sells. If you see reviews that are less than five stars because the prices are high, they really should be disregarded. Know in advanced, that prices are extremely high, because they offer extreme quality and durability in almost everything they sell. Like I said, this store is not for everyone, but for those that demand the best, and have the means, you cannot go wrong. In this regard, it truly does deserve five stars.

Love this store! All the stuff you could want for home woodworking and a million other things you would never think of. Make sure you subscribe to their catalogues so you have an easier time deciding what you want/need before getting here and spending hours trying to decide what not to get. Full 5 stars from me!

Quality, quirky, old time general store vibe. They have items you weren't looking for and didn't know you needed. We have bought some of our most favorite things we own at Lee Valley. We love this store!

Everyone was super helpful and interacted beautifully with my little guy that was with me. Super friendly and always nice to see the wide variety of products they carry. One of my favorite stores!

This was my 6th stop trying to find the correct cabinet hinge. Francis was so helpful and patient and put in a lot of effort to help me. Very lovely, kind staff. Thank you!

This Lee Valley location is fantastic. I'm a relatively novice woodworker who is building my first table. I've made a few trips to this Lee Velley and I've been able to source everything I need tool-wise from here and all of it is top quality stuff. Admittedly though half the reason I go here and not a hardware store is for the advice. There's a gentleman at this Lee Valley named Scott and I look for him every time. At my last visit Scott spent over half an hour with me helping me choose the right equipment to use to get rid of overpour epoxy on my table. Not only did he make a solid recommendation for what tool to purchase he walked me through how to use it with a demonstration on a practice piece of wood in the store and then he went over how to hone the edge and maintain it.

Come for the tools, stay for the advice.
