Exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean and simple. Beds a little soft for me. The service was fabulous and the restaurant was excellent - great beer! Location was perfect for cyclists and they had a secure bike storage room.

Lovely restaurant with several vegan options on the menu. Hearty portion sizes. The mulled wine was delicious (and so strong haha) - some of the best mulled wine I've had! I definitely recommend stopping by for an après-ski meal.

The atmosphere is wonderful. Very cozy on a cold winter night. The food was tremendous. We will definitely be back!

Great food. Great beer. Beautiful view.

Service is a bit slow but it's the vibe of the place so just make sure you know to give yourself some time.

We went there for dinner and the bison burger was just amazing. The fries were fresh and well seasoned and the salad was very refreshing too. We also got some good poutine which was good. We had the beer from the brewery and liked it very much. Our server and host was very kind and friendly.

Wow, the bison burger was gourmet. So juicy and not over spiced, with just a hint of pepper, the full flavour was free. The homemade ketchup blew my mind (really!) and the local kimchi on the green salad was brilliant. Great value with a fun homemade feel.

We were pleasantly surprised by this micro pub. We had always seen it while biking but had never stopped. Since it was one of the only places open on Monday, we tried it out.

We were lucky to be seated right away by a really hospitable host/waitress on the terasse facing the water (lovely). She brought us the menu and water straight away. My husband got a beer (rousse) and it was very tasty.

Although we waited quite a bit (over 30 min) for food, we were not in a rush and it was well worth the wait.

My husband ordered the bison burger with poutine, which came with greens. I got the boar sausage with fries and greens. This came with sauerkraut that was out of this world. The flavors exploded in my mouth and made me realize how bland my food had been this week. The potatoes seemed hand cut and were seasoned with spices l had never tasted before on fries.

The burger was flavorful. The bison came through but didn't overpower the burger. The poutine tasted authentic, the sauce a joyful experience in combination with the cheese. The salad was a great compliment to both meals and was lightly seasoned.

After that deliciousness, I couldn't resist ordering the tarte tatin. It didn't disapoint. My husband, who had never tasted it and is not a sweets person devoured it. (Don't worry, I got to eat some too and the caramelized apples were not too sweet and well complimented by the light crust.)

We will definitely be coming back.

Note: if you are in a rush, this is definitely not the place for you. Your loss though, the food is wonderful.

$31 for a burger is straight wildin'
Beer and fries are mega delish though.

As someone coming from out of province (and out of country) my group and I were very pleased at the service and even more so the quality of the food.

The waitress was very quick to switch to English to accommodate my anglophone friends. The restaurant has classic chalet vibes and is situated in a beautiful location.

I will be taking my friends here anytime I am looking to impress them with what Val David has to offer !

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and is near the river and small rapids. The bison burger (Tonneau Fumant) and the pulled pork sandwich were excellent. The fries are homemade and are excellent as well. Interesting choice of beers as well. I would go back again.

I guess I am their 1000th reviewer and oh boy I just have good things to say about this place. Full 5 stars go to the ambience and the staff. I was there twice in 2 days, one for take out and one for done in. The take out was a last minute order just before they closed on Christmas Eve. They did everything not to make me disappointed. Thanks for the last minute help. The next day we were a group of 5 and the tap beers were just awesome. I'll be back here for sure if I am I the area.

Cozy, chalet-style space with a fantastic selection of house brews as well as cocktails and ciders. Their menu is exactly what you'd want after a day of skiing or hiking -- soups, fries, sandwiches piled high with toppings. Live music happens often, plus game nights, trivia matches, and more. The heart of the community!

Nice place to get a glass of wine with beautiful view on the river. Friendly staff, tasty dishes and calm atmosphere - that’s all you can find here.

Great food and great beer, but what really made the 2 nights we stayed and ate there so special was the quality of the service. Marie-Lou was alone the first night, but kept everyone fed and watered in good time, smiling all the while. The second night she had help but was still running the show, and still smiling!
We will definitely be back 🙂

Lunch today was absolutely wonderful! I wasn't sure about a "terroir" menu but they rocked it! Husband got a tasting menu of beers and I took a sip of all of them. They were fantastic but my favorite was the Blanche Immaculate. Each one was flavourful and had the right blend of sweet, bitter, malt... The food.. DIVINE. We split the deep fried mushrooms, the bison burger and fries and the bison poutine. We were both so happy that my husband wanted to stay. In town and go back for dinner 😁
The prices were great for the size and quality. 80$+tip was absolutely reasonable for what we got. And I've had more expensive burgers at chain restaurants that have been awful so I applaud the Baril Roulant for their imagination and their flavors.
Staff was beyond sweet and the outside dining had a great view.

If you want great nachos... no wait, amazing, out of the ordinary nachos, to go with some good and decent beer, this is the place to go. A very relaxed setting with a few rapids flowing in front. On a sunny day, you'll see a few cyclists stop here to enjoy the breeze on the terrasse.
I recommend!

Perfect place to go after hiking to Mont-Tremblant national park. We discovered this place from a friend, and it was really nice! If you are looking for a warm place, nice beer and local menus, you must try it!
