Ribbon Lake Backcountry Campground

Amazing experience.

Of course you'll be backpacking so you'll be bringing your own accommodations but the campsites are very well organized, the loo is well taken care of, the view is incredible, minimal bugs (but bring but spray), and the sunrise is probably one of the most incredible things you will ever see.

Backpacking motto for ribbon lake: "I was inches from death hiking out the next morning, but..... Worth it."

Great back country campground. The picnic area was fantastic. There are plenty of storage lockers.

Nicely kept back country campground with tent sites that can be reserved online. There are basic facilities like bear lockers for food, outhouses, and group firepits/picnic tables.

The hike is about 12km with 900m of elevation gain on the way in and has a rock face and ledge with chains to pull/scramble up....definitely not easy with 30 lbs of camping gear on your back...but well worth the effort!

Stayed here in Sept. 2021, and it was absolutely stunning! The sketchy chain route keeps a lot of people out.

Never stayed but we hiked up and had a fire. Great common area and beautiful views of the mountains around, with the lake calmly sitting close by.
