Beautiful design and a fun second floor for kids! The green furry felt carpet on the otherwise steel staircase is such an unexpected element it's a joy to walk on. Absolutely a joy to see and experience!

Lofty and light - a celebration of literacy and architecture!

Such a beautiful building and peaceful place. The new set up in the children’s area is very functional for toddlers and arranged so bigger kids can feel confident to explore. Recently, they have had a riddle to solve, that had my 7 year old poking around shelves she had before overlooked. The staff are always welcoming and I am so proud to have this safe and welcoming space in my community. Between exploring the art gallery and checking out the library, you can easily kill an afternoon alone or with kids.

Great Service and People, good building and environment The library is an essential part of the city and the services they offer are very important to those that need it. The TRAC system is amazing and gives access to an amazing amount of material.
Parking is still a bit limited outside the building.

I ❤the Grande Prairie Public Library. It’s clean, modern, well lit, and has a great selection of books due to its long arm’s reach into many small libraries across the province where they can basically get you anything you desire. It’s generally a nice place to spend time.

Love going. Lots of fun programs for kids. Their library of things is helpful. I borrowed a sewing machine a while back to see if I found using a machine frustrating or if I should buy one. It was very helpful. We love taking the kids so we’re not always rereading the same books or constantly buying new books and running out of room. And we always enjoy going through the video games too for that same reason. I don’t want to spend $80 on a game and hate it. I actually almost did just that. The store didn’t have a copy so I borrowed it from the library to play and found I didn’t actually like the game.

Friendly front desk staff - easy to get a library card. They explain all their services, policies, and online items.
Very open and specious areas. Lots of tables to sit at and corners to read.
Quite a few computers to use and a large childrens section upstairs.
Little pantry and in winter warm items for free.

Been living in Grande Prairie my whole life and the GPPL has always been my safe space. The staff are so lovely and very knowledgeable! Super kind and easygoing people. A wonderful spot especially for LGBT youth in the area looking for a place to hang out and feel safe in. Their teen area is so lively and they always have amazing local events and programs listen around the library. The study spots are amazing and the view is so calming. GPPL is a heaven-sent getaway where you can grab a book, catch up on studies, hangout with friends and family, and take a breather & relax at.
I also highly recommend volunteering here! I enrolled in one of their volunteer programs for teens and it was my favorite thing to do. Every time you walk into the GPPL, you get a sense of belonging, welcome, and comfort. Amazing place, gorgeous atmosphere, and kind hearted people.

Beautiful building, underground parking is nice in the winter. Good selection of books and what they don’t have you can order in. A really nice kids section that’s on a whole different level, like really they have another level with it which is nice for safety for kids. Everything is quite modern and makes for easy check out. Staff is really nice and helpful especially Brandi

We love the library. There current summer reading camp has my kids trying to take every book they can touch! If books we want aren't in they are happy to order it in from another branch (taking about a week) the librarians are wonderful and chatty and always willing to help

Great library. Varied selections showcased weekly. We take our kids every other weekend and get new books for the two weeks. Kids choose books and then enjoy their choices over that time.

Such a great place to study and relax. Whether it's a group project or just some alone time, the public library has so much room and lots of different spaces to use. I love the hours and that it is open late for most of the weekdays, it's so convenient. It's too bad the underground parking is no longer free, but at least there's more parking available now at the back.

I love coming here to take advantage of the free access to computers, and I still come here to use the wifi even once I got my own laptop.

The electricity plugs outside are something that should be in every park because I use them often when I need wifi after hours.

Gorgeous library! I didn't have too much time to explore around so I was unable to find everything I was looking for, however that was my own fault. I think what I needed may have been upstairs because I only perused the lower level.

The amenities at this library are wonderful. Lots of spacious seating areas, public computers, self-check out stations, they even have device charger stations near some of the seating areas!

I haven't been to any of the programs the library offers, but their offerings are plentiful and there are many I can't wait to attend. They have programs for babies, children, teens, adults, seniors and even disabled folks may find some great programs to meet new people.

Once you have a library card it opens up so many tools to use for digital materials. I will never be without something to read and it's so handy having them accessible from my device.

Hands down the best library and services that I have been too, and I've been to Manitoba, Ontario, and now Alberta!

(The coffee shop located to the right of the library lobby area makes better fraps than Starbucks too! I believe it is "Esquires")

The only thing I will say is the library's app could use a facelift, the library is so modern that I feel the app for them should be just as modern ;)

I recently used the library for their proctoring services. Quick and easy sign up for the service and a reasonable price. The proctor Selena was pleasant and helpful and the Rotary training room we used was a nicely equipped little room. I will have to find out if we can use that room for our own uses.

I really like this library because in the winter they have the fire place on and its a very cozy place to sit and read. the large study tables are great and have enough computer plug ins to accommodate several people at once. Great staff and front desk helpers too.

Plant exchange night was great! Loved to hear that all the plants left at the end of the night go to the "Free Plant" library.
