It seems to be a trick-hostel. There is not even a sign outside and when you ring people come out the house telling you they have people asking for the hostel all the time but it is just a normal house, no accomodation at all.
Apparently the reception is in another building around the corner and check in stopps at 9pm. We could neither found the reception place nor have we reached someone by telefphne before 9. 11 min after nine someone picked up and just shouted in the phone "it's closed it's closed it's closed" repeating it thousand times instead of being helpful. We have been infront of the hostel before 8 and stroled around on the street for over an hour asking people next door if they know where the hostel is we booked for 2 nights for over 100 CAD. We cancelled our reservation but the took the same money. We called booking but Quebec Loft downtown hostel wasn't agreeing on giving us our money back. Not even partly. If they would really be a hostel, their staff had been on the telephone before 9pm and even when someone is reaching them shortly after check in is closed they should be tolerant and help, they are supposed to give a service if they earn money with it. We feel robbed and been treated very unfriendly. I warn everyone to book at there place. It might be in a nice area and close to the town center but as other referenced said it wasn't clean either, we imagine it as a horrible place taking advantage of young travellers without lots of money. We did not even get a sorry from them.
Don't book there!
