Louise Taverne & Bar à Vin

I recently dined at this restaurant during Christmas Eve with my partner and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The prefix menu offered a surprising and delicious selection of dishes that were simply mouth-watering. The waiters were incredibly nice and friendly, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. The portions were generous and reasonably priced, making it an excellent value for money. The restaurant truly made our Christmas Eve memorable. The design of the place was authentic and warm, which added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

We had the best time here! The atmosphere was cozy and filled with Christmas nostalgia ! Our waiter was charming and really made our evening wonderful. The food was delicious- wine, bone marrow , hanger steak , soup and salad but the best was the deserts ! We had almost one of everything!! Loved it and was the best finish to a great weekend!!

Our experience was very nice! Since our table was a bit late they arrange a waiting room for our group where we took some cocktails.
Service was a bit long but the food was fantastic and the ambiance is very nice.
We'll come back for sure!

Visiting from Alberta (but a Maritimer originally) I had to try this restaurant, not just based on reputation but for the history of the name and the artwork inside.

My local friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. The Icelandic cod fish and chips that I had rivalled those that I supped on in Reykjavik.

I certainly recommend this tavern for anyone visiting Quebec City.

Nice environment and service. No need for reservation. Most of these French restaurants are strictly required for reservation. We went multiple nearby places and found no way to eat if we had no reservation. Louise saved us by offering us a table for 4. The draft beer were awesome and dessert was also decent. We tried the fish of the day and it tasted tender, but lacked flavor.

The food was good, the service was excellent. I noticed something I normally don’t see in a restaurant - people hustling to help out where needed. For example, the host sat us at the bar and noticed the bartender was buried, so he took our drink order. And did a great job! We were attended to by 4 different people during the evening, all seamlessly. Impressive!

Came here on a Friday evening and it was busy! Make sure you make a reservation beforehand.

We ordered the lobster ceviche and salmon tartare as starters and the burger (not pictured) as the main. Everything was so delicious! The ambience of the restaurant was very nice. I would come back again!

Outstanding food, wine, cocktails and desserts! Our hotel was nearby and we took a chance not knowing anything about it, but even the entire staff was impressive. If I lived there I’d come often. What a wonderful memory of Quebec!

Had the chance to have dinner at this beautiful tavern during the holidays. We got the holiday tasting menu, which was delicious: fresh, tasty, and well presented (the pictures don’t make it justice). Pricey but totally worth every penny!

Smoked salmon breakfast with fennel and dill was incredible. French toast was decadent and balanced richness and lightness. Presentation, atmosphere and service was all amazing.

Don’t listen to Dr. Luis A. Vargas Massari, MD. He may be able to save your life, assuming he’s of that speciality, but he shouldn’t be taking away stars because a business is too busy to serve him. Entitlement to the 10th power.

The breakfast was fantastic. We had the bacon blood pudding. The preparation, presentation, taste, and service of this dish were all top notch. Kudos to the chef in charge of this masterpiece. Favorite breakfast, hands down. The oyster mushrooms are a really nice, and delicious touch. The place was busy with Christmas afternoon patrons, but the food is worth the wait! I can completely understand why this place is busy and popular.

Impeccable food, truly unique brunch menu, charming decor and excellent and warm service. We had dinner there too: upscale dishes, local ingredients and a new take kn everything.

Went during the holidays and got the tasting menu. Ambience is very nice. Waitress was friendly and very helpful in accommodating for my dairy sensitivity. Dessert was superb.

This was the best meal we had over the weekend we spent in QC. Having picked it on a hunch, we couldn't have been more blown away by the quality on display. Our waiter Nicolas made this a truly unique experience through his suggestions and attentiveness. We decided to go with the platter for 2 that was available that evening, and it did not disappoint. Beyond that our appetizers of raw scallops with seal sausage and smoked salmon with labneh were out of this world. They have a full fledged smoker on the terrasse as well, which adds a unique twist on the food and flavors served. This was our first dinner in the city and it couldn't have gone any better. We will be back one day soon! Happy 4 year anniversary, keep up the good work!

If I could give more stars for service I would. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to come again. My husband and I stumbled upon this place and had drinks here every night during our stay in QC, on our final night in QC my husband, son and mother in law had dinner and it was exceptional! We really enjoyed ourselves tonight. Thank you!

Amazing food! We had originally gone for dinner and then had to return the next morning for breakfast because we loved the food that much! Definitely recommend!

What a wonderful Christmas experience. It was pricey but festive and lovely.

There was a set menu for Christmas @ $79 per pax. So the ravioli and chocolate cake are set, but you get to choose the 2nd and 3rd course.

I got the duck terrine. Hubby got the Chicken Wings. Both were very good. For mains, I got the partridge and the hubs got the shrimp. Both were excellent too.

So the only "catch" is the price. We enjoyed ourselves nonetheless!

Excellent service, very kind to explain in Spanish. AMAZING food and great recommendations for wine. The Special Menu for the Quebec competition was very delicious.

My friends on our girls trip booked the chefs table for a final night celebration. What a great experience. Delicious food and great service. They were so informative. If you are a foodie it’s the perfect addition to any trip.
