Titanite Hill

I love this spot for rockhounding. Free, beautiful, amazing minerals! Just watch your step, keep it clean, and good luck with the bugs. I have found some amazing rocks and crystals there, Titanite, Appatite and lots more.

Get here early if you want a decent parking spot. And be sure to turn your vehicle around before heading up as it's difficult to turn around when the road is jammed.

Go for free...limited parking. Stay all day if you want.No facilities Bring bug spray and tools for digging...food/ water, and TP, as there are no toilet facilities other than the bushes.
Limited cell service. Treat it like a day hike out in the boonies. Area is heavily visited in the summer. Be prepared for serious digging if you want crystals. Lots there if you have a clue what to look for.

Great introduction for rock hunting. Make sure you bring a vehicle with decent ground clearance along with a flashlight for looking around the holes. A pinch of water to clean your finds also helps!

Pretty easy to find and great for a hike. Keep your eyes peeled and you're likely. To spot some gemstones sparkling in the dirt.

Great first time rock hounding experience for both adults and kids. Found some beuatiful green apatite, feldspar, titanite, mica and hornsblende

Vary well worked ground

Went hiking here with four teens. Great spot for rock hounding and mucking about in the dirt for rocks. Can be buggy but worth 30-60 minutes if exploration.
