I have been in different Persian Supermarkets or even bakeries but I found this one better. The atmosphere is such intimate that you feel really feel home. The quality ofSangak bread is awsome and I highly recommend you to taste at least once then you feel the difference. Halim is available in weekends and it is such a wow mosly with sugar and cinemon. Quality of other items are also good. The shop looks old fashioned from the outside and I can only recommend them to make some changes on that. Else everything is great.

I come to afra every time I’m on the north shore. The sangak fresh from the oven and the kuku sabzi (heavenly walnut herb patty) are easy go-tos. They have a great selection of spices, pre-made food, cheeses etc and the pricing is very reasonable. I love this place!

Breads are fantastic. Probably the best in Vancouver. They can customize their sangaks if you ask and have both white and whole wheat. The staff on the bakery side are very courteous too! Always a bliss to shop here!

They bake fresh Sangak bread Saturdays and Sundays from 7 am and even throughout the day. Sangak is a famous yummy Iranian / Persian bread.

They also have handpicked high-quality grocery items.

The best kept secret in north van. The back of the shop has a bakery where they make the best and freshest wholewheat sangak bread everyday. Try it with their homemade Hummus. They also have some delicious baklava and other fresh food items at the deli counter.

Great little place with a huge special oven in the back ,making the best bread in town .

I am buying sangak bread 🥖 from this location for a long time, we were buying their frozen bread in Calgary in (the only) Persian super market (back then) as a luxury commodity;) I really like it. I recently discovered their sandwiches and highly recommend it.

Incredible store, great bread and superb selection of grocery items. A gem in the community. Don't go in with an entitled attitude expecting to be served on a whim. These guys are busy doing the good work to bring people good food. Be patient and kind, and you will not be disappointed.

The best bakery for Sangak bread (Persian tandoori bread) and halim (Persian meat oatmeal). Great little deli and Persian treats as well.

Best Tahchin, Best Salad Olivieh, great fresh bread and so much more. Love Afra! A trip to Afra Bakery is like a trip back home. The only place in lower mainland with Salad Olivieh that tastes like mom’s!

Delicious food, great customer service. These guys are patient as the clientele are not easy and sometimes borderline abusive. I felt for the staff. But my experience was fantastic and I got to discover lots of new delicious food. Will be back soon and frequently.

Fresher nuts one can find, awesome sangak, very good choice of dairy and great deli counter. My favourites are the kotlett and the rice cake with chicken in the middle (i can’t remember the name). Whenever I go to North Vancouver, it is the place I don’t want to miss. And whenever I know someone that is going I ask them to bring me back food from there!

I have read some of the reviews and I don’t agree. I am white and blond and always had a great service. And i ask questions about ingredients and all, so I can be annoying. Nevertheless they were always friendly. So I guess there is also a part that comes from the customer attitude when it comes to customer service!
