This is a great space to stop for to-go or a quick dine in breakfast or lunch. Delicious food and serving sizes are generous. It’s kind of hidden in an area downtown that doesn’t have many other options, so if you ever end up over there it is a must try!

Visiting from Niagara was recommended this restaurant by a friend. One of the best customer service experiences I have had. Try the bacon in a bag! It was so good we went back the next day for takeout

Had a great breakfast here this morning. You can tell they use quality ingredients and I’ve never had such perfectly cooked bacon. They’re open early, friendly service, large portions.

Chix Eggshop - We were checking out the amenities in the East Village district and came across Chix Eggshop. Not knowing what to expect, we stepped into this funky, bright and open restaurant. Order is placed at the counter, and a number is given, while you seat yourself. The California Chix Sandwich (grilled chicken with lettuce, avocado, egg, bacon) with breakfast potato slices, and the Macho Bowl Salad were flavourful, delicious and filling. A very nice place for brunch in a causal setting.

This eatery is attached to the Alt Hotel and is a convenient breakfast stop. We had breakfast here two mornings. The coffee was perfect per the hubby and the bacon was cooked the way we like it-crisp. I had the breakfast bite both mornings, while my other half had the waffle. If you have children the chocolate waffle looked "to die for."

This funky spot has great chicken. Everything is either already gluten-free or can be made so for a small charge. Allergy aware and friendly!

The chicken nuggets are extra crunchy and come with your choice of sauce. My hot sauce butter was excellent. It's made with Mexican Valentina sauce (4/10 for heat). The Greek potato wedges are tasty and it looks like they're baked, not fried. My friends had the sandwiches, which come with a golden brioche bun and a good amount of lettuce and tomato. They all liked their food. The drinks cooler has unique drinks, such as a line of unsweetened botanical infusions and Grizzly Paw soda. There's a nice coffee menu.

Order at the counter, and then sit down and your food will be brought over. There are menus on the tables, as well as above the order counter. Service was friendly and patient as our group of 8 ordered. The food came out quickly. Even though there's no table service, the restaurant was quiet enough that staff came to check if we needed anything more.

Update: a visit with a gluten free friend was just as enjoyable. Standards are consistent here!

I came to Calgary over the long weekend and stayed at a nearby hotel. Chix Eggshop was our nearest option for breakfast so we decided to check it out and we loved it. Every morning we'd come down and have a meal and a coffee. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was welcoming and fun, and most importantly the food was really good. I tried something new every time and was more pleased with each meal. I can't recommend this place enough.
I was in town for a family wedding and my mother was quite sick. The staff were so kind to her and would ask how she was feeling when we'd see them. On our final day she was finally feeling better and the chef came out and gave her a big, warm cookie. It was such a nice gesture and my mom hasn't stopped talking about it. Big big thanks to her, we didn't catch her name but she's a rockstar. Thanks Chix, I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!!

Tasty breakfast sandwiches, quick service, and a charming retro-modern interior.

Portions are a bit on the small side, so you'll want to grab a side item if you want a filling meal. The breakfast potatoes and bag of bacon are both satisfying companions to your main item of choice.

Chix Eggshop is a promising addition to the Calgary breakfast scene, and definitely worth checking out.

Had breakfast/brunch there my entire stay at the hotel! I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often given how many gluten free options there are. Even after a little hiccup with running out of waffles everyone on staff was more than accommodating to get me an even better meal in my opinion! Don’t skip out on the gluten free buttermilk biscuits!

Cute little place for breakfast, I got the kids meal and it was more than enough for a light breakfast eater. Unique decor and super convenient obviously if you’re in the hotel. Interesting ordering from the table is great in the time of Covid.

Was beyond excited to finally find gluten free chicken and waffles near me. Having a gluten allergy I often feel as though I’m missing out with gf substitutes, however this was amazing. The hot sauce pairs beautifully with the chicken and syrup, and myself and my boyfriend (both chefs too, for those of you that weren’t sold on it before) were BLOWN AWAY by the GF waffle too, fluffy, flavourful, and deceptively gluten free.

My new fav brunch spot! The Amazing hot chix burger paired with the cheesiest fries and mimosa is the perfect start to the day! Thank you to Connie, John and the team! Hope to be back soon!

Their burgers are different and very tasty. A shame that the yolk on the other burger arrived smashed.

Chix has delicious food and incredibly friendly staff. When you walk in, you're greeted into a bright, relaxing diner-style atmosphere. Every meal I've had there has been delicious and the unlimited coffee is the best. If you need suggestions or have dietary restrictions, the chef is extremely helpful and accommodating. It's attached to Alt Hotel, so it's convenient for travelers, but also a favorite for locals. It's family friendly and a great spot to bring your kids. Definitely check it out!

Stumbled upon this place with my girlfriend and had one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. It’s called hot chix I highly recommend. Who knew! Really good vibes in there. Check it out.
