Wide Awake Specialty Coffee Brew Bar

Very nice cafe located near the canal. You can have a nice pastry with a good espresso. The service is fine but can be more welcoming. I enjoyed the fact they refuse laptops. Not much space to sit, more a grab and go place. I recommend it.

Great place. Loved the aesthetic, the big communal bar/table where you get to witness the calm and patience it takes to make a cup of coffee or tea. Got the Tonic espresso with a vegan pistachio and date babka.

This place is all about the coffee!!

What is it: a proper coffee place. I tried both the Duchess house blend and the Papua New Guinea single origin. The barista kept working on the latter and dialing it in until he was pleased with the result. Kudos! He was also very helpful in me selecting coffee beans for home. The music thankfully, was not detracting from the experience or too loud. Some great coffee gear is also sold here, if you like to play with coffee.

What is it not: Coffee Perk of Friends, a place for bringing large groups, a place for working remotely with your laptop, etc. It is focused on the coffee. If you want a bus to carry people, don't buy a Porsche Boxster and then leave a negative review about its lack of seating;) Same with this awesome coffee shop.

Great coffee place - amazing interior, attentive staff, beautiful crockery. They sell coffee machines, coffee beans and some appliance. Flat white was a bit bitter so a proper cappuccino for me would be good next time

Amazing place of you are a true coffee lover. Great guy working here, explaining absolutely everything about the coffee they make and processes of getting the coffee, checking on how you like it, brining freshly ground coffee for you to smell it before he prepares it!
It is a whole experience and could not recommend it more!

At this point I’ve had many thousands of coffees in my life. Let me tell you, nothing comes close to the flat white I drank at Wide Awake. They served me the best cup I’ve ever had, putting the special in specialty. Everything from temperature to acidity. The barista is an artist and has truly mastered coffee.

The coffee was amazing. Does not have a lot of seating space, but the coffee provided here is very good. The person at the counter was also very friendly. I would really recommend this place to anyone who loves strong coffee. We tried the cortado, flat white and cappuccino. The place also sells coffee beans. A must visit.

We had oat milk flat white and cow milk cappuccino and a vegan cookie. Paid 12.30. The cookie is not worth mentioning, but The coffee was sooo good!!
And the small WS from barista very informative. We loved the visit!

One of the best coffees in my life. And the place is the most spacious specialty Cafe I have ever seen. It would fit 20 seats, but there are only like 6 right in front of the counter, to facilitate the conversation. Which obviously happens in ALL languages, as the cafe attracts a very very international crowd

A beautiful speciality coffee in Brussels. It has minimal decoration pleasant to the eye and a nice variety of coffee beans. Normal prices for drinking coffee in Brussels. The girl was very pleasant, helpful and knew her job. The only suggestion i would make is to put 2-3 small tables for better pleasure.

Great specialty coffee shop! Modern place with an amazing coffee variety! The man behind the bar was friendly, happy. The prices are normal - not expensive. There are several pour over options - try the Kenya on Aeropress on your visit! I am extremely satisfied with my visit!

Excellent coffee. I had espresso and it was great. Cookie was also very rich in ingredients and tasty.

Amazing coffee, I got the americano and it was quite good and my friend got a cortado which was nice. The interior is really nice too., I would definitely recommend this place.

2022.05.05 The recommendation to visit the specialty coffee was from SnaptureThis Canada. Nice Specialty Cafe. The hot Americano was strong and excellent. They have a variety of coffee beans. We sat outside on the bench to enjoy the coffee. The barrista was very friendly.

Great coffee, nice, calm and cozy atmosphere in beautiful interior. The tea was also very nice and I like the food a lot as well. Got some coffee in beans to bring back home-veeeery good stuff.. never had a coffee tasting like this I guess. Also, the staff is super nice, helpful, open and they speak great English. One of my absolute fav coffee spots in Bxl. Thank you!!

Typical specialties coffee . Atmosphere is warm and open. Not so many seated places. More of a place to buy your coffee ( beans) than to sit down.

Best flat white I have ever had! I worked as a barista for 2 years at a specialty coffee shop in my city but this coffee was the best I have tasted. (Including ones I have made myself). Machine must be dialled to perfection and the milk high quality. So pleased we stopped at wide awake in Brussels!

Has to be the best specialty coffee place in Brussels. They have their own roastery and provide beans for other excellent cafés - their client list is too large to mention.

The atmosphere is super nice. Every time I go I have a nice chat with whoever is working there at the time. I like that it's free of "café-workers" who bring their laptops and decidedly not a mass-market product, but rather a very purposeful place where you come to enjoy a nice freaking coffee, hang out, and then leave.

Plus, for the pure espresso drinkers, they basically only do double-shots, which is very much to my liking. ;)

I'm still yet to try the pour-over but I think I will have to one of these days!
