Culture vultures will love this place. Splendid grand galleries with a great mix of art some on a stupendous scale. It has a really lovely cafe, bar and restaurant exquisitely renovated in a nouveau art deco style. The cafe/bar shuts at closing time, but the restaurant remains open after hours for those with reservations.

Just wow! Got this place recommended during a visit in a local Tattoo shop. I know it sounds weird... But this recommendation was the best we have got for the weekend in Antwerp. My friend and I spent more than 3 hours in this museum enjoying all it's art. The 20€ entrance fee are worth every cent!

It’s close to the shopping area of Antwerp so my friend and I just dropped by on a sunny Saturday last week. There was a small queue of less than 10 minutes so it’s okay for us. The exhibitions there are impressive for modern and classic art lovers. The architecture itself also looks beautiful from the outside. Convenient to find in maps and public transportation is also easy for this museum. I think you better plan 3h or more for this spot because literally there are a lot to see here! We were kinda in a hurry because we arrived at 3pm :(

Amazing collection of 16-17 century Belgium paintings and modern art. And the building architecture is stunning! This is absolutely underrated museum and should be in a must see list.

One of my favorite museums in Antwerp. They have a nice collection and a smart way of presenting it by theme. You enjoy the art and don't feel overwhelmed since it's not very busy.

Great museum. Nice architecture. Numerous and wide range of art pieces: modern art, ancient art, sculptures, paintings,... Easy to go with kids. Not too difficult to park in the streets around. Great park with sculptures around the museum. Nice "art lake"... Wonderfull place to visit :)

Incredible museum, one of the best in the world in my opinion! very easy to get to, the tram stops right in front of the KMSKA. If you are in antwerp, a visit to the kraase Koppen exhibition is an absolute must! Ruben's, rembrandt, vermeers & bruegel to name but a few! We had to wait about 10 minutes to gain entry to the exhibition as everyone wanted to see it! The queue moved very quickly though and there was no actual wait time into the museum. To see some of these masterpieces up close and personal was absolutely breathtaking, some i may never see again in my lifetime, such as vemeers'girl with the red hat! You must book your slot online to enter this expo, and it costs €20 but it is worth every penny as you could quite easily spend the whole day here as it is a beautiful museum. If you are a resident of Antwerp, it's free! It's busy, but not so much so that you are not able to enjoy art like in the Louvre, which is impossible to navigate and can become quite frustrating & claustrophobic! Here, everyone and everything is more respectful, more chilled & at a relaxed place, everyone makes you feel very welcome as you are greeted in such a warm manner. Our only disappointment was that we didn't have much time to spend hours upon hours here as it is a huge museum with so many of the great masters to see. The staff are so incredibly friendly as are the security! Also, more importantly, if you are with someone who is elderly or can't manage to cover long walking distances, they provide wheelchairs which is amazing! An absolute must if you are in the city!

One of the best museums in the world. Great balance of modern/old art. Few really fun and interactive exhibitions. Located in an amazing building near the city center.

After recommendations from many art enthusiastic locals, we checked this gallery out ourselves.
It was stunning!
There was so much art you could never finish your trip in just one day.
id recommend planning something around 4-5 hours for your visit, so you can really appreciate and take in the art.

Once you get past the structure, which is beautiful, there is plenty to see and learn about Antwerp. From WWII history and heros to how beans are shipped around the world, there is a lot to see.

The museum offers a broad history of Antwerp during and after the war. It also provides a chronological history of Antwerp becoming the port city it is today.

It is worth the entry fee and good for 2-3 hours, maybe more if you’re interested in how Belgium feeds their people.

Antwerp’s perfect place for art lovers. The museum’s collection is obviously heavy on Flemish masters and modern Belgian artists. From renaissance angels to interactive installations this place is constantly challenging the visitor. Give a good two hours and take your time to enjoy this wealth of beauty.

nice interior architecture, with the free map you manage your own museum tour in 1.5 h when not crowded. Excellent organisation into old and new masters; extensive collection of Ensor, Rick Wouters. Nice cafe and shop.

Great museum. We preferred the permanent exhibition over the temporary exhibition (krasse koppen/turning heads), as that was very crowded with lots of people clogged around small pieces of art.

The permanent exhibition as much more appreciated: "old masters" in the museums original interior setting and new masters in the fully renovated, modern, glossy white floor rooms. Great to see the largest collection of Ensor and Rik Wouters.

Also well suited for younger kids, with lots of fun activities to keep 'em entertained.

This is a MUST-See museum of Antwerp. We were really impressed with the big collection and the humorous insertion of new and quirky ideas of current times into the 'old' collections, really refreshing.

One of the best museums in the world and a visit is highly recommended when you are in Antwerp. Old and new masters come alive....and it houses the largest and most important collections of Rubens, without doubt the greatest Flemish painter.

Incredible modern art museum. Only regret is that one exhibit was being installed and we couldn't see it. Wide variety of types of art, very well presented. Terrific space too.

Very good museum with various masters from all centuries. The old part of the building shows multiple paintings from Rubens and other old masters. The modern part of the building has a big collection from Ensor and other modern artists. Late opening on thursdays (10pm) and free wifi.

Beautiful museum. I found myself looking at the building just as much as the art it housed. A must-visit in Antwerp.

Amazing place. The architecture and interior of the building alone are worth the admission fee. The collection of modern masters is spectacular.
