Sonic Sherpa

I visited at 12:00 on a Friday. 2 people were in there, but soon I was the only one present.
The store was neat and orderly. The records were grouped alphabetically and by genre.
Records that were shown on their Facebook page were present.
The range was extensive and there were new and used vinyl a available, as well as vintage t shirts.
I also saw laser discs and cassettes and some collectibles.
I bought 4 records - 2 new - and a shirt and was pleasantly surprised at how cheap it was. The shirt I bought was one for their shop and the quality and design is excellent.
The person serving left me alone until I was ready (appreciated), was friendly and helpful. He offered to order in anything that I wanted. In some record shops the staff have been far from helpful and some have been arrogant. Not here. We had a great chat ND more than a few laughs.
I will definitely be back.

Great record store - Was recommended to visit by another record store.

Was looking for metal records, not a huge selection but found afew interesting ones I wasn’t expecting to find.

The home of music in southside Brisbane. Always plenty of great albums to choose from, either on vinyl or CD.

this is a lovely small record store, i highly recommend visiting. while it may not be as big as other stores, it has a beautiful cozy vibe. i love that they have local brissie bands that play here. i have only visited the store once, but the man who was working here was very nice and you could tell he is a big music lover. they have some secondhand vinyls too!

Great store. The only one I go into in Brisbane. It's a 40 minute drive to get here for me but it is always worthwhile. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable and play good music which is a bonus most of which I haven't heard before

I love this place! It's way too easy to start rummaging through boxes and hours later still be there. Some awesome finds today...good prices, great range, very well organised. The owner is a lovely guy too. Can't wait to waste another 3 hours here soon. 🫶

A great record store with a very extensive catalogue, especially for local indie music which is what I come for. Occassionally there a live performances and record signings instore too. The staff leave you alone while you browse, which I appreciate but are super helpful if you need. You could easily spend hours in here browsing or chatting to the staff and you wont know where the time went! I dont live very close by, but whenever I am in the area, I always stop by,and never leave empty handed

Well organised and a great selection of new vinyl of every genre. Not necessarily the shop for second hand vinyl although they do have some. Nice shop to visit in an area with a good vibe.

Heaps of great wax, including new, used and local. Love stopping in here for a visit and always leave with a couple of great things to take home.

I've been to other big record shops in Brisbane, and honestly I can't stand their taste of music playing in the store, Sonic Sherpa is not one of those.
The place is small, but well sorted, well arranged. Staff is friendly, decent CD prices, glad I walked past a hidden gem.

it's a warm, friendly environment. everything is greatly organized. it's super reasonably priced and you know your money is being well spent. keep supporting this shop please, they are great people with a big heart for music ❤. rare south brissy gem.

A lot of people complain about intimidating record shops with unhelpful staff that cater only to people in "the scene"... Sonic Sherpa is not one of those shops.

The store is clean and well laid out. The selection is perfectly curated (it oddly mirrors my own collection) and will have selections for just about any taste.

Above all, Steve knows his stuff and is happy to talk about it. I get the feeling that he is the guy who orders the stock because his knowledge seems to back up all the artists that the store stocks, and he does a pretty good job of scoping your tastes and recommending new tracks to check out.

This is a nice shop- all mature, all grown up.

Great shop - cosy and feels very personal. They have new and pre-loved vinyl (among other things). The shopkeeper told me to keep my receipt when I bought my pre-loved vinyl and bring it back if it had any problems. A lot of places don't do that, so they definitely think about quality!

Quite possibly the best record shop in Brisbane. Loads of new and 2nd hand gems to listen to, live in store performances and the owner is a legend! He's really friendly and will get you what you want!

This is an excellent shop with a large range of albums and 45's to suit all tastes. Great friendly service, well worth a visit for any vinyl collector. Highly recommended.
