Padstow Bookshop

This little shop is filled to the ceiling with decent authors of excellent tales on sale for a song. Easy to park nearby and right near major highways too. The staff are absolutely obliging.

I called to find out if they had a book I wanted and a few hours later they dug it out and sent me the photo below. It’s hard to find this book for under $40 (including shipping) and I paid nowhere near that!

This bookshop has a small, cozy, atmosphere with a huge range of books from all different types of genres. The shop can be intimidating and overwhelming at first, seeing all the books stacked up high, however once you take your time to really observe all the books that are available, you find yourself getting lost in time exploring every nook and cranny, I found so many hidden gems!

The lady who works there is very kind and helpful. Once she learnt which type of books genre / topic I was interested in, she showed me the section which alot of them were located. She was very helpful, positive and went over and beyond in customer service. I ended up purchasing two books which I have absolutely fallen in love with. The books are in very good condition which is a huge bonus, especially being second hand. The books were reasonably priced, inexpensive even! I plan on visiting again very soon to hopefully find similar books.

The location of the store is very close to public transport (right across from Padstow bus stop / train station) making it easy to come and visit even if you are not a local. While reading other reviews, some mention that it is cash only, I just so happen to pay in cash so I can not confirm if this is still true. However if you planning on visiting just bring more than enough cash just incase, you never know how many books you will end up taking home.

This used book shop is a hidden gem! Great collection of books. I managed to find many titles here which weren’t available at other used book shops in more popular areas like Newtown. The price is comparatively lower as well.
The shop is slightly overflowing with books but that’s alright, who doesn’t like bit of treasure hunting. If you feel overwhelmed inside the shop, seek help of the lady shop owner. She is a living catalogue. She helped me find the books I wanted as well as gave me recommendations on few more books (in same genre) with an insight on their content.

I had a wonderful experience, my first time at a second hand book store. When you find a book you are interested in you end up finding other books that peak your interests. I will return there are other books that have peaked my interests.

Absolutely best second bookshop around. Love this place. You always discover or stumble on something new. The owner is amazing & extremely helpful in finding whatever you're looking for.

Very homely place. Literally stacks of books and the best Australian Crime section outside of Dymocks.

This little secondhand bookstore is amazing, you can find all sorts of books in various conditions but most very very good and some clearly unopened for much cheaper prices than you would in any other store. The store has lovely hardcover as well and many classics and is run by a lovely couple, the lady will always know what book your after. I go there so often just to be surrounded by books, it's a magical feeling 10/10 recommend.

Best bookstore I've been to, lots of niche and interesting books. Customer service is also 10 out of 10 👌😊

You won't be disappointed.

A wonderful place to spend more time than you expected to. An amazing selection of used books and some really hard to find titles, all generally $6 - $10. Just be sure to bring cash as there's no eftpos, and definitely don't be in a hurry as you will want to rummage all day!

Undoubtedly, this bookshop has everything a book worm looks for. If you plans to buy a new book, just contact them first and you might find a hard cover book is available with them for $10.

The lady who owns the shop is absolutely nice person and opened the shop specially for me although they normally close it in Mondays as she knew I love books. Bought entire sets of books for an unbelievable price. Probably this will be a usual stop for me in next month's.

This bookshop has way too many exceptional books. You can basically find any book over here, while there are some books you wouldn't find on one visit but could get it on other visits. Pretty inexpensive compared to buying brand new books. I recommend this place to all book lovers.

A fantastic little shop with a large selection of books. You could spend hours entertained in here just going through the shelves. They are also very willing to help you find what you're after.
