Wedding Cake Rock

Beautiful walk along the cliffs - the pathway is well maintained (though you definitely want to take plenty of water). The wedding cake rock isn’t the highlight - it’s pretty but Marley’s beach and the extraordinary erosion in the rocks all along the path are well worth the trip.

Parking is a bit tricky but manageable - not one to do in the wet, parts of the walk would be quite dangerous. Probably not a good idea to do the track if you’ve got bad knees/ankles.

Good atmosphere on the casual walk along the edge of the cliff to the Wedding Cake Rock. You will find a good atmosphere and beautiful cliff edge with clear sea water Enjoyable along 3.4 km go and 3.4 km return. if you get the chance I'd like recommend you to go there . It's considered another tourist attraction in Royal National Park of New South Wales

Awesome little hike that is great for all levels and the views are spectacular. This is good for people who aren't very patient ie me, to hike for long periods to get to a nice view. Throughout this hike though, you constantly get beautiful views and the rock itself is pretty cool

Wedding Cake Rock's unique shape and stunning white color against the ocean create a breathtaking sight. The hike was enjoyable, and the tranquil surroundings made it a perfect spot for nature lovers

Good bunch of miles to on coastal trail sometimes inclines and declines, but a beautiful walk through the Tasman Sea side Cliff trails, and a beautiful white cake like rock at the end and thats a 3-4km walk but more trails to go after that till marley beach.

Amazing views and scenic route. Loved every bit of the trail. The wedding cake rock was blocked off by fencing as it should be, but it can still be viewed from the fence pretty well. Saw whales too!

Absolutely fantastic cliffside coastal walk from Bundeena to the rock and back. The scenery is great throughout and there are inclined ramps and steps to guide your walk. You can't walk on top of the Wedding Cake rock itself due to safety issues.
The walk was tough, it's mostly stairs and inclined ramps. Be careful when near the cliff's edge, because there are no barriers to stop you from falling. The walk is best enjoyed in cool weather.

One of the kind rock formation. Very unique. Need to see with your own eyes to fully experience it. Love it very much!

2nd time in Sydney so wanted to go to somewhere unique. Great view!! Went there by riding a ferry from Cronulla. It took some time from coming here from Sydney QVB

An amazing hike to get here, and truly spectacular. Disappointing that our nanny state has made the decision for us that we aren't allowed to stand on the actual rock. If it were so fragile it would have collapsed by now.

Perhaps a Park Ranger regulating how many individuals were on the rock at any one time would have been a better option.

Nice trail, about 4-5KM walk to get to this rock from the parking Bundeena town, Royal National Park Top Bundeena.
Good for a day trip.

Wedding Cake Rock is such a special place at heart. This beautiful piece of rock (to have it so well preserved) has a story that we have to share with the world.

Be prepared to hike and climb lots of steps, which are narrow, steep, muddy and quite slippery. But, don't worry, the views of the valleys and the surrounding mountains along the way are breathtaking!

Great little spot for views, the rock itself is currently blocked off though as it's nearing the end of its life and may fall :(
About a 30 minute walk from the town to the north, parking is available but payment can only be done through the ParknPay app

The wedding cake rock while pretty isn’t as impressive as the trail itself. Starting from the balconies to the steep near vertical cliffs, the trail is peppered with spectacular breathtaking views. The trail itself is well maintained. There is also parking at the trail entrance.

Wedding cake rock is approximately 3.7 kms walk from Bundeena Rd car park which is the closest from the Wedding Cake Rock. First of all, I am not used to walk that much or at least not in regular basis.
The walk was fairly easy and can be done by any age group. First half is plain walk but rest half is uphill with stairs.
On my way back, I had the experience to see a BROWN SNAKE crossing in front of me. I was scared as hell. I would recommend to be aware all the time where you are walking. Although a snake jumping out or crossing your path is not that regular.
Most the path you will have cellular service but not that strong.

Great place for a short hike. The trail is slightly confusing in the middle with little signage but usually there's plenty of hikers to ask for directions. The first half of the trail is uneven, should wear shoes with thicker sole but the rest is fairly flat. A tall fence there but wasn't a big problem to get good photos of the rock itself. No amenities around so you'll need to go to the nearest town for food/water etc.

It's a 2hr trek with some ups and down, so you'll need to be ready to break a sweat.

Beautiful Nature's work !! This is an easy bush track, with proper path ways . The track provides amazing views on the way. It a day activity if you are planning till Wedding Cake rock. The place is easily accessible by public transports. Take a train till Cronulla from Redfern or Central, then take a ferry from Cronulla Warf till bundeena Wharf. You can find public toilets around the beach area and this is the starting point for 30 -40 mins walk till wedding cake rock. On the way you can find a diversion to explore the indigenous beauty. The walk is beautiful with spectacular views of the area. Due to safety reason you cannot actually sit on the wedding cake rock. However, you can enjoy and take photos of the rock from a side. There are similar rocks nearby, where you can sit and relax. It's really beautiful and worth trying.On the way back we enjoyed in the Bundeena Beach.We went with freinds and family, we saw people walking with their kids as well, so I guess if you are looking for a place with kids, this is a good one. Just be careful of the edges. Since, this is just limestone. Near the Bundeena Beach there is cafe and a 7/11 shop.
