prices are good, inconsistent customer service as sometimes the people are lovely but some unfortunately have an attitude that turns others away

It's a nice shop for the most and was able to get some really nice stuff from there for very little. The only issue I had is when I wanted to donate some items as thanks and to help out, there was a lady there who made me feel unwelcome and that I should be grateful they accepted my donation.
Not going to donate there again as there are other charities that are much more welcoming.

One star because it is supposed to be an opshop where people should be welcomed, which I did not feel I was.

I was already on my way home and needed some cheap pants and just wanted to browse to kill some time, maybe find a bargain I didn't expect. As soon as I entered it felt very cliquey which I felt was attributed to my age as I look 18 and I am not a local to Padstow. I wasn't greeted like the other customers who were obviously known to the staff/volunteers and noticed different tone and attitude towards me.

I did find some nice New Balance shorts and a lightweight Adidas jacket for $10 each in great condition and would have been easily $60+ brand new. I always appreciate a bargain and would have left at least a 3 star review if the next part of my visit wasn't as unpleasant.

I walked over to the other side which sold miscellaneous and household items. Maybe the prices are comparable to the supermarkets now because inflation but they aren't as cheap as I expected for a community store/opshop. E.g. a conditioner was $5 but at Woolworths you can find $2-$5 decent conditioner.

I was greeted by a lady and she asked if I had a pensioner or student card. At first I just said I just wanted to browse since I was walking past and then she changed it to a Centrelink card. I asked if she meant a Health Care card but she said no and even asked the second lady if Health Care cards were valid. Keep in mind she did not ask why before asking me for a "Centrelink card". She said that the store was for people with "Centrelink Card" which a Health Care Card is ? I also had a valid student ID. She said the store was for vulnerable and needy people but as I wrote before the prices aren't that comparable to the supermarket.

The issue I had is how I was approached, how the "system" was explained and why was there no visible signage to show only people with "Centrelink cards" can shop at this store. Very disappointing as most community stores/op shops the volunteers/workers are usually helpful.
