Johnette is simply amazing. When I moved to Castlemaine from Melbourne I was nervous to try a new hairdresser but Johnette ended up being the best hairdresser I've ever had. From my very first visit, I felt so comfortable and in good hands. She understands what's needed to colour and maintain shiny blonde hair and I always leave feeling like a million bucks. My hair is always soft, shiny and fresh and I get so many compliments. I always refer friends to Johnette (and strangers who compliment my hair!). I feel so lucky to have such a warm, friendly and talented hairdresser so close to me now!

Johnette has created such a warm and welcoming space for her clients. She really listens to what you have in mind and I have always gone away feeling better than when I came in! I could not recommend her more if you are after a luxe experience, supportive presence, and of course fab hair!

Johnette is hands down the best in the business. High level of attention to detail and actually listens. Every appointment I leave happy and with shiny fresh locks. Have been coming to her now for over a year and grateful she lets me bring the kids to appointments. You won’t find a better skilled, or more personable hairstylist in the ranges. 10/10.

I visited this salon to have my hair cut, coloured and styled. Johnette did such an amazing job, that even a couple of months later my hair still looks just as fresh and healthy as it did when I left my appointment. Johnette is highly skilled, uses fantastic products and I love her approach to sustainability. The salon was warm, welcoming, full of beautiful flowers and plants and had a killer playlist on rotation. Johnette explained each step of the process to me and was so friendly, funny, down to earth and made the appointment feel comfortable and as if I was hanging out with a friend. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome or service, I’ll definitely be returning and couldn’t recommend Luna and Sol enough.

I am so happy I found Luna and Sol. I have thick, curly hair and right from the moment I sat down for my cut I knew I was in the right place. Johnette is undaunted by curls and knew how to cut them (dry cut first etc). She gave me the exact cut I was after, which with my hair, is super rare. The space is calm and welcoming and Johnette is friendly (and funny). Highly recommend!

I really have no business being blonde however Johnette kept my hair healthy as we worked toward the colour I wanted. She’s an amazingly skilled professional and an even better person.

Stunning salon with an incredible team.
They helped grab me a last minute appointment as I was calling through town. Local chocolates served as a little treat were amazing. Perfect wash and blow-dry. Super talented and would make it my weekly regular if I was based closer x

Johnette is hands down my favourite hairdresser I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Not only does she make you feel so comfortable, she is a genius when it comes to hair. She takes into consideration your lifestyle and what is going to work for you. I'm not someone who goes to the hairdresser very often, but she gave my hair such a natural lived in balayage that it looked amazing even six months after I'd had it originally bleached. Would recommend every time. Since she moved to Castlemaine, I now travel from Melbourne just to see her.

I originally went there because I knew she used cruelty free animal products and vegan hair colour!, The colour did not disappoint, love the cut as well ... the customer service is exceptional and I LOVE the global politics conversations we immerse ourselves in - very stimulating - highly recommend
