Visited Queen's Park orchid house today to spend a quiet sunday morning. Enjoyed a blissful day with vibrant colors of the beautifully bloomed orchids

Great park play, lots of space, toilets, bbq water refill taps bubbles, dog sections away from the child playground.

Mackay's first botanical style park est 1884 located to the east of CBD residential areas. Consist of amazing Orchid House display (open limited times each day), palm grove, aboriginal interpretation trial, original local cricket grounds, historical landmarks and structures, dog off-leash fenced park, large children playground complete with BBQs. Note: Internal traffic access no longer permitted. Off street parking via Shakespeare Street. Plenty of external parking. Allow half a day relax or 1.5 hours exploring.

Took my granddaughter to Illuminate on Friday night (6.10.23), free activity for families. Was a fabulous event - really magical atmosphere and she had a ball exploring the many displays and activities. 100% recommend, I also take her to the park playground regularly as well - it’s her “happy place”

Orchid event was awesome, amazing and spectacular.

Such a beautiful park to stroll through. Concrete walkways meander around majestic trees. Great place to take your dog for walks on a lead. Or, if you prefer there are 2 off lead areas. One for smaller dogs, the orher for larger dogs. While there, you are also joined by magpies..be careful though, during nesting season they do swoop. The park has several barbques areas, a playground, seating and toilets. There is the Orchid House that is open at certain times , and a beautiful Band Rotunda. Wander around to the Aboriginal Yarn Circle...so interesting to learn the cultures of our first inhabitants...a place to speak and listen others. It is really a gem in the midst of town. You will feel so refreshed after visiting. I have included a picture of the unusual Sausage Tree.

Had a " GREAT "afternoon with Green Thumbs garden club and visited Orchid House the day was perfect,afternoon tea with the members.

Great playground for the kids. Really pretty gardens and big old beautiful trees. Great place to visit for any age group.

Very nice, nicely established place.
Lots of shaded areas.

We spent a couple of hours here with grandchild. What a fantastic resource. Well done govt and council.

A serene pleasant place to unwind after the rigours of work .The location which is a short walk from the city CBD with ample parking is an added bonus

Beautiful park with fresh ocean breeze air. It's got an incredible playset for the kids. Plenty of areas for a picnic and BBQ. The council is always putting in improvements and the gardens are very nice to walk past of an afternoon.

Love the new work and concept done at Queens Park.
