The Peter Hallinan Mountain Bike Precinct

Trails are good. Lots of up and down. Good workout. All marked tracks can be ridden in under 2 hours.
Would be great to see SEQ Water sanction further development of this facility in such a popular location. There is plenty of potential for much longer trails.
Watch out for the danger noodles.

Great trails, amazing walking track along the dam

Well marked single tracks. Not for the faint hearted as I found some of the going pretty tough. But we'll worth the effort.

Not sure why all these people have posted pics of the dam - they should be under Hinze Dam.

Where are all the bike trail pics? The amazing tracks and wildlife out there?

Google should remove the “damn” dam pics as they are nothing to do with the Peter Hallinan Mountain Bike Precinct (aside from access).

Google “Hinze Dam” and put your pics in the proper place 😊

The tracks here are awesome - hard to find free bike tracks (for all levels) that are maintained so well.

Come early, get a park at the top, near the cafe.

(The Cafe is reviewed under Hinze Dam as it should be, not under a mountain bike track).

Definitely worth a look, bring the kids - or not, it’s fantastic!

...and here’s a pic of a banana as it’s just as relevant.

You can see fireflies if you stay a bit longer. Worth sticking around on the trails after sunset. Not sure if they actually do shut the gate though..

Queensland Gold Coast is a good place to go.

Gr8 spot out there - trails are riding well. Just needs a proper green trail, maybe around the lake and a few more k's of good single trail.

Was much better before they raised the wall. The dam is still lovely. Amenities so so, and ability to actually get to the water non existent. Lots of missed opportunities here. Shame.

Hinze Dam mountain bike trails.

Some nice well maintained single tracks. Not too technical if you are used to riding trails like Nerang.

Enjoy a 1.5km warm up/cool down whilst riding to/from the trail via the dam wall.

Cafe at the information centre is pretty poor. If you enjoy your coffee as much as your riding, then give it a miss.

It's a series of mountain bike tracks ranging from family friendly to a little less family friendly to probably not at all family friendly. Tracks are pretty tight in places mostly fairly well maintained.
