Avoca Street Medical Centre

We took our 3 year old in this morning to be treated for a head injury. Both nurse and doctor were brilliant so calm, professional and informative. We cannot thank you enough for turning something traumatic into a positive experience.

I went there years ago loved the doctors, always have been more than amazing but the wait and reception was very very long 1 hr plus with appointment and the receptionist was sooooo rude! But I went today very reasonable wait 15mins apology about the wait. And wonderful caring doctor as normal. I'm converted back will be going now with family. Thanks so great to see gps that actually care!

Avoca street medical centre is the best medical centre in my area and I have been with them for 13 years. Dr Kien and all his amazing staff are always very professional and make sure that you are being looked after they go above and beyond, always with a smile especially Loui on reception.

I've moved in and out of the area but still maintain Avoca St Medical Centre as my family doctors for years. These doctors are thorough, caring and lovely so worth the wait if there is one.

Been waiting for nearly two hours and haven't seen a doctor as yet. If you can't wait for hours, go to a different GP practice. The GPs are exceptional though, especially Priscilla and Mandy. Probably worth the wait. 😊

A medical center for locals.

Good doctors and convenient location. Need to wait for an hour+ normally but worth to see a nice doctor who know you like a friend. Only downside is their new reception is so rude and has no clinic customer service focus. Gave you a poker face if you try to ask something she doesn't want to heard. I was given a sarcastic response when ask if my doctor is available. Drag down their image a lot.

If I could give a 0 star, I will choose to do it. I had a regrettable experience with Dr.Kien Cao Xuan. He displayed unprofessional behavior and lacked clarity in their instructions. His dismissive attitude and poor communication skills left me feeling unheard and confused. I strongly recommend avoiding him and seeking care another doctor for a more professional and clear healthcare experience. However, Dr Angela is far better, she listens and has patience.

My first impression was very poor- one of the doctors said they had no interest bulk billing and I asked if they cared about people struggling financially and suffering with mental health issues his reply was “not interested”. Stupidly I still made an appointment. Just arrived for my 12:15 appointment, not only did they have no record of my appointment but the doctor I initially requested doesn’t even work on Monday’s.
I’m not going back. Good luck

I was a customer for while in this centre, but I did not go there for longer than 18 month, because I was not sick. Now they refuse the bulk billing for me. = So you better get sich regularly!

I use to be a regular patient however, I now refuse to go back. I just experienced the WORST conversation with the receptionist who gave me the wrong information about medicare billing and was incredibly rude.

Incredibly rude and incompetent reception staff, that are unwilling to help and condescending to patients! As great as my GP is, it’s not worth the experience especially when sick!
