I live in Ipswich and would happily drive here for date night, I found this place while staying in Aspley and can honestly say I haven't had chinese this good since sydney in the early 2000s so I am extremely pleased to rate this place a 10.

I was decided to write a review, after googling the number and seeing the low star rating. I was shocked ! I have always found their food fresh and delicious - their Peking duck is outstanding. There were many families there, children entertaining themselves with chop stick fights , others checking out the live fish tank - no one bothered - I am mentioning this as a review here complained they were stared at as their children were throwing food around the floor and not to bring children, gesshh if my children were throwing food on the floor - guess what ? They would be picking it up !
So if you are after tasty Chinese food , from a restaurant who has stood the test of time and been here for years - give this place a go !

No frills and not particularly cheap, but a satisfying and tasty yum cha experience on the Brisbane Northside. Relatively limited dish selection on the carts, so order the specific extras dishes you want directly from the servers.

I took Mum and Dad out for yum cha to Aspley Oriental. We arrived at about 11.30 and there were already diners at tables all in happy animated conversations.
We were shown a round table for four and asked if we wanted a square one. I don't know about you, but I like round tables.
Trolleys filled with steamed, fried and baked goodies were zipping past us and we soon got in a rhythm of looking at the person pushing the trolley with a suggestive eye.
I knew Dad wanted chicken feet and I knew Mum would like some tripe. Other than that it was up to me to pick and choose.
Given I can't speak Chinese and I really have no idea of what each of the tiny morsels is called, I resort to politely pointing and asking for some.
We ended up with an array of pork, prawn, and scallop dumplings. I didn't see any flat rice noodles dishes that I really like, but the first thing I asked for were turnip cakes which are my favourite.
The chicken feet were delicious, but Mum said the tripe was a little tough. She ate the whole dish to herself. Dad and I don't like tripe. Dad and i shared four chicken feet between us.
The joong or sticky rice had a nice flavour but I was disappointed to only find a small piece of Chinese sausage (lup chong) and a small mushroom in the middle. There's enough rice to share with someone else, so you end up fighting for the mushroom.
The pork ribs were tasty albeit quite oily, but you could always add some of the oil to the sticky rice for some additional flavour.
We finished off with custard tarts.
All in all Mum and Dad were happy to celebrate their 54th wedding anniversary with a good yum cha feed at Aspley Oriental. I enjoyed it to0 and would happily return regularly for a quick meal.

Very traditional trolley dim sum which is a rarity nowadays. Large portions and rustic design brought back our childhood. Maybe the last gem soon to be crushed by the mass machine production in the not so distant future.

Sunday is very busy. The food was excellent. Lots of different dishes and tastes. This is what Yum Cha should be.

Great place for Yum Cha, we drive down from Bribie to have lunch here, this is probably the closest genuine Yum Cha restaurant for us, staff can be abrupt, which seems to be normal in these types of places, but the menu is always excellent.
Highly recommended.

Best yum cha in Brisbane! Food is fresh, great range of steamed / fried / sweet plates. Prices reasonable. Trolleys were regularly moving around and servers explained well.

First time going here after eating Yum Cha over in Sunnybank for decades. Very pleased with what we received. There was no sticky rice on the trolleys, but we were never given a menu to order from. At the end of the day, I will be going again... in fact, tomorrow seems like a great day to go!!

My partner, a Hong Konger, had a yum cha at this place with me. She found the dishes very authentic, old-fashioned "Nan-Yang" style. The taste is flawless. And the price is reasonable for its portion size.
