I have just had a surgical procedure done by Dr Teck Tang .
I was impressed by his ability to be both calm and informative. We chatted throughout my 20min consultation , which helped the inevitable nerves. He regularly checked in with me that I was comfortable and not experiencing any discomfort.
I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a knowledgable, kind surgeon .

Dr tang impressed my wife and myself at our first consultation re a hernia open honest discussions were had with us i felt totally at ease and there and then we arranged the surgery times .After surgery everything worked as discussed during initial consultation recovery was painless . At the 2 week review we approached the doctor re another small problem which was then performed in house and i am recovering well from the procedure. I would recommend Dr Tang to all people.

I had a Hernia repaired. The surgery was efficient and my recovery was as described. 2 weeks on I am back doing light exercise and looking forward to get back in the water.
I drove from Noosa to visit Dr Tang under recommendation and I would do it again.

I was referred to Dr Tang when I discovered my gall bladder had been taken over by a hoard of stones. Dr Tang was absolutely great from word go. Being very nervous I appreciated his detailed explanation of what was required as he addressed all my many many questions. Surgery went well. Due to a really jam packed gallbladder the one incision had to be made a little longer but this was all explained post op. In the following week I picked up a slight low grade infection but this was dealt with quickly and thoroughly by Dr Tang who monitored it regularly. Dr Tang has an amazing bed side manner. He is detailed and caring and I strongly recommend him.

Did a great job on my hernia and recovery is coming along well. Dr Tang was pleasant and answered all my questions clearly. He took the trouble to ring my wife after the operation to let her know it was successful.

I had my gallbladder removed, he was open and honest and fitted me in quickly and I woke with very little discomfort, the hospital staff were 12 out of 10 fantastic and Dr Tang saw me and discharged me in the morning, it's coming up to 48hrs now and I feel great. No complaints, I'd definitely recommend him. Thanks

Naval Hernia. Went to 3 hernia specialists. 1 of them made me go away and come back 4 times so he could tell me its okay. After I realised I was paying for his luxury yacht. After spending $900 and nothing fixed. I found Dr Teck Tang. If I ever have a problem again I am going to this guy. Advice watch post hernia videos especially about constipation its something you wish to avoid.
Thank you for a great job its been 9 months and its perfect Cheers Will.

I read the previous 1 star review a week after I got my Lipoma removed by Dr Tang and got thinking that had I come across this review before I choose the doctor to operate on me, I might have not made that decision. Now I am thankful that I didn’t and am so much appreciative of Dr Tang

Ok, here’s my experience:

I recently saw this movie “a hologram for the king” starring Tom Hanks and realised I’ve been putting off getting the lipoma over my shoulder blade checked just like the lead character in the movie. So taking cue from Mr Hanks, I eventually saw my trusted GP who recommended Dr Tang.

His diagnosis confirmed my research on the lipoma, that it was indeed too big (10 cms) for local Anaesthetic and I would require to undergo an overall costly general Anaesthetic surgery.

For personal reasons I pushed for the local option and was advised by him that it would be tricky as the lipoma was big and I might feel discomfort, but it wouldn’t be unbearable. After careful evaluation of the ultrasound and confirming no muscle tissue was involved he agreed to operate on me under local Anaesthetic.

During the operation I must confess I felt instances of sharp pain, but nothing compared to the pain of a root canal operation. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t want to go thru either of those operations again.

I saw a YouTube video on how difficult this operation can be and I must congratulate Dr Tang on a job well done. Now had I read that earlier comment before, I might not have trusted him to do his job and had my reservations.

The relationship of trust is of utmost importance when coming under a surgeon’s knife, and I am confident to recommend him as being very good at his craft.

I had an inguinal hernia repair in January last year. It was a very small hernia. The recovery process was very slow although I am healthy and not overweight. I still have problems with the mesh used for the repair. Burning and stinging. I can feel it poking and stinging when I am walking too and are not able to work and complete my daily chores as I was before the operation.

My family member ended up with a serious infection after a procedure by Dr. Tang. Additionally my family member ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics and in severe pain from the infection. I would NOT recommend this doctor or practice what so ever!!

If you have been given referral to see this surgeon I would strongly suggest you see someone else.

I don't say this out of spite or as a means of questioning his surgical skill, but rather based on my experience with him, and the serious lack of respect, manners and courtesy, I felt, he demonstrated to me.

As someone who myself works in healthcare, I believe it is important to listen to patients not only to attain all facts about a situation but also to show the you value them and their situation.

Throughout my appointment with him he constantly and continuously spoke over the top of me while I was talking. Right in the middle of my sentences I would be cut off by him speaking. This was offen about something completely different to what I was saying. As a result I had to correct him regarding details I had been unable to fully explain because he had not taken time to hear, what I felt, he pressumed to be inconsequential details.

The moment I walked in into his rooms he seemed to have decided I was not worth his energy. He was obviously very annoyed that I had not brought a pram for my daughter despite the fact that I tried to explain (because of course he did not once let me finish my explanation) that my daughter would not move around or get in the way because I had toys she could access in the nappy bag and she would enjoy searching for them. He did not trust that I could possibly assess for myself how to control my children, even though, as I predicted, they hardly made a sound and did not touch a thing or move around his office at all.

"You need to listen to me and what I am saying," are words, that in a number of variations, were repeatedly said to me. Incidentally, it was purely impossible for me not to listen to him since anytime I tried to talk I was spoken over. Regardless, despite regularly reminding him that I had heard him and I did in fact understand what he was saying, he continued to make me feel rather stupid by reguarly reminding me to listen to him, like I was a silly errant child, even though he had no interest in listening to his patient.

The truth is, the advise he gave me was exactly what I expected to hear and I am beyond convinced that this advice was in fact the most medically sound available given the limited amount of information he obtained in the very short moments he was actually listening. However, patient care is not just about doctors opinion. Patient care is a space in which a patient and their carers meet, with mutal care and respect, to come up with a solution together. This man is in no way interested in offering this form of care, in fact I would go as far as to suggest, based on my experience, that he is in fact not interested in caring for patients at all but rather interested only in giving orders baded in limited information provided to him on his terms only.

His refusal to look at me when I was speaking, his constant talking over the top of me and his clear inability to trust that my children might just be well behaved, left me feeling upset. Manners and respect are basic and should be deserved to all. This man's actions clearly indicate that he believes his opinions are far above anything else anyone else could ever offer.
On the plus side, he was running perfectly on time, which most of us know is very rare for doctors, and his reception staff were wonderfully polite, friendly and helpful throughout the entire process.

Please remember that when your G.P. gives you a referral it is able to be used with anyone within that area of expertise, not just the specialist named. If the referral you have has this man's name on it I would highly recommend you find another general surgeon to consult with. There are plenty out there and it is my opinion, based on his actions today, that he will not treat you with care, kindness or even basic respect.

So bad experience with this doctor.

He did a very small operation on my daughter. The wound became infected on the eighth day after the operation. It was very septic, the wound was very painful and she had a fever. As a result, when the stitches were removed, all of them were suppurative. He still insisted on his statement that there was no infection, and the wound grew very well. Three days after the stitches were removed, the wound all collapsed open, and the wound was even bigger than when the operation was done at the beginning.

The doctor did not pay attention to disinfection. When the stitches were removed, the gauze was directly thrown on the bed without disinfection.

We went to see another doctor later, who told us that if the infection could be handled in time, it should not be like this, and the best time had been missed.

In addition, every time we wanted to say something, he would not listen to us and always interrupt us. It was a very bad experience. We really regret seeing him.
