Café Sur L’Avenue

Such a hidden gem. The front is a beautiful boutique shop and sunny backyard with French chic vibe. The display is gorgeous. Friendly staff, simple but tasteful food.I took my friends there for her birthday. The staff is so nice get her a little cupcake with candle without us requesting. So cute. Definitely will come back when I am around the neighborhood.

Hidden Gem
This was a hidden gem in Double Bay, but rightly so the word is getting out !
The entire set-up is a wonderful experience. You can either sneak in through the back gate or make an elegant entrance through The Baccarat Shop on Transvaal Ave, either doesn’t matter as the end result is a wonderful lunch. They have applied and waiting for a licence to serve a few drinks, but in the mean time just go and enjoy the professional service, great food and coffee. Menu is limited due to the very small kitchen, but what is served is of the best quality and taste. Go and enjoy, but please don’t tell too many how great this place is, we all want a hidden gem !

My second time having morning tea here with my girlfriend. I hope this place continues to operate incognito, amongst the rest of the cafes in this notoriously see-and-be-seen suburb. The spread of cakes and pastries and meticulously put together beverage concocted with good weather (in their airy discreet courtyard seating) and company (BYO) makes my heart swell.
