Yuan Bao Taiwanese Cuisine Restaurant

I can't vouch for the authenticity of this place - but it came strongly recommended by my pharmacist (who is from Taiwan) when I asked his suggestion for a Taiwanese restaurant. Turning up just after opening, I was the only patron to begin with a few more trickling in as time went on.

Food - I didn't know what to expect. I have a weakness for noodle soups (Phở, laksa etc) so went with the Braised beef noodle soup. Only a ten minute wait and it was wonderful. Loved the texture and flavour, only minor criticism was the salt could be dialled back slightly. The portion size was almost the size of my head and very reasonably priced.

Service - I don't speak Mandarin (and can't read the traditional script either) but the serving staff (counter and waitress) were both very polite and well presented.

Atmosphere - what I would expect. Clean, tidy and appears well patronised by the appearance of the furniture.

I'll certainly return when I'm next in Brisbane, perhaps for dinner and try one of the other mains.

12 of us (all adults) went there for lunch, luckily most of the dishes were large serving, which was a bonus. We almost ordered everything on the menu as they didn't have a large menu. We booked the table and also a Taiwanese Pork knuckle 3 days in advance. It has an authentic Taiwanese flavour, and comfortable seating for 12 ppl. Will definitely go back again. Everyone was really full at the end.

Authentic Taiwanese food with large portions and good, fast and adequately attentive service. Flavour profile of each dish is great and portions are generous. A staple restaurant for every Taiwanese family in town.

One of the best authentic Taiwanese restaurants in Brisbane. Large range of Traditional Taiwanese meals, not too expensive, and very delicious vegan/vegetarian options, my absolute favourite dishes is 3cup tofu!

Great food. Great value. Place is always busy, for a good reason. Our favourite dishes: sweet and sour pork, stir fried cabbage (very delish!), and taiwanese fried chicken.

We had a quick lunch at this pretty authentic Taiwanese restaurant and the highlight was the Taro fried duck - it's one of my all time favourite dishes and it did not disappoint. The taro was fluffy, and the duck was moist and flavourful... A must try if you visit! The service wasn't the most attentive but we really enjoyed our food.

Went here with family. We ordered fried chicken lunch box, braised beef noodle soup and spicy beef with noodles. You can get an extra serving of noodles at no extra cost. Very generous serving and worth the $13 we paid per meal. Food was great and very flavourful. The meat was tender as well. Milk tea was cheap at $4.5. Definitely recommend and we'll be back!

Wow, just wow! Everything we had was amazing and the service was spectacular. The owner was so accommodating to our booking and needs.

The salt and pepper calamari was the best I’ve had anywhere and the rice and pepper beef was out of this world too. I will definitely be back.

The best Taiwanese sausage I've tried in Brisbane.

Have been here 4 times and never disappointed. The menu is quite well-designed so you could have plenty of choices for matching your dishes or flavors. Cooking is nicely controlled and you can tell the kitchen staff here are truly experienced and devoted, which is so different from most of asian restaraunts in this area.
