We had a Meeting with the New Management and are Quite happy with their level of transparency on Management Practices with the Strata Schemes.

Jocumsen Body Corporate management are now the subject of Police investigations. Complaints have been lodged by at least two body corporates. Allegations are that they have appropriated monies to themselves without permission of the body corporate committees. They have also failed to comply with numerous requests for financial information in particular provision of a bank statement for the last six months activity for Mar to Sep.

Jocumsen Body Corporate Management pty ltd is now under administration since the 23rd September 2015. This occurs when a company is insolvent or likely to become insolvent.

I wish to issue a warning about Jocumsen Property Group and Body Corporate Management.
Since purchasing a unit at King Street Mew CTS 33124 and nominating for the committee I have found that Jocumsens have overcharged $2500.00 for services (amended after I contacted them). They have overseen the spending of $4850.00 on a back fence for the complex without getting half payment from the adjoining property owner (dept of housing Qld). They have charged $275.00 a year for most likely six years for lodgment of tax returns when no returns are required as there is no assessable income.
They have over inflated the valuation of the complex by a million dollars and paid $1000 more than needed for insurance. (they receive a commission for this). They continue to take fees from our bank account (over which they have control) that are not in their contract. They have a plumbing charge taken from the account without committee approval and will not advise what it relates to.
They refuse to provide information under section 205 of the act regarding the number of years of charges for tax returns or provide a copy of the latest tax return.
They continue to refuse to respond to why they cost the complex an extra $2500.00 for the fence.
Since daring to apply due diligence Jocumsens have ignored dozens of emails and requests for information. When I directed them to call an earlier annual meeting to move a motion to not renew their contract it was about a month before I had any response to my request. This was only after I emailed all owners and cc'd Jocumsens in advising that I would organise the meeting. At this point they finally responded but refused the committee directive to put all the motions I had requested and compiled some of their own.
The owners voted unanimously at the meeting on the 26th September to rid themselves of this expensive albatross. They charge $130.00 an hour for anything remotely outside their contracted duties and even these seem to be double dipping at times. It costs on average an extra $1000.00 a year for communications with them for the committee and a total of ten owners. This is on top of their contracted fee and extra duties charges.
Approach this organisation with extreme caution.

Certainly not value for money! Certainly would not have any dealing with this company again. They are under administration. Check yourself on the web.
