Great spot for a snorkle, arrived at low tide and there wasn’t quite enough water, had lunch and went back an hour later, was beautiful, watch the current with little ones,

2024: This is our second visit to this natural rock pool, where the only human intervention to nature’s architecture comes in the form of a few steps and a handrail. Currarong Rock Pool is a stunner. One of our top ten in the state. These photos were taken early this morning at low tide, but it’s even better at high, and we’ll be returning later this arvo with our snorkelling gear to enjoy just that.

There’s picnic tables overlooking it and free car parking in a few places nearby. A couple of hundred metres around the corner at the curiously named Abraham’s Bosom Beach there’s even more parking, bathrooms and a BBQ area. There will definitely be a third time coming for this one. And a fourth…

2022: Walk past the well-placed picnic tables set on soft grass to find this unique natural ocean pool, made even more inviting by the simple addition of some steps and a handrail.

Unlike most ocean pools, this one has been carved out by nature, creating a thirty metre length of water sheltered from the sea swell. We were here at high tide, so the surrounding rocks had almost disappeared, but they were still doing their job well making a great swimming spot.

As you’d expect, the fish found it a great safe harbour too, so a quick peek beneath the surface with goggles and snorkel revealed a variety of species using it as a nursery. This one’s a big win and we’ll happily return.

We really loved it. Family friendly with shallow beach which would be awesome to sand board on. Doggie friendly with little river (tannin stained when we were there but great contrast). Cool little beach bath place too that’s protected from the waves (which were small when we were there). Parking was easy and public toilets were clean.

It's exceptionally beautiful. Lots of small shadow pools. Small park with picnic tables. No shower or restrooms.

This place is an absolute must on your bucket list!
Went here at mid tide and left just as it was rising.
The array of sea life in this small inlet is incredible and fun for the whole family. At low or mid tide the handrails ease you into the low water where you don’t need to swim to enjoy the natural wonders below the surface. At low tide you can walk through to the outlet and then swim out to the beach if you like. During mid to high tide, there is just as much fun to be had but swimming experience is needed.
Bring your goggles or snorkel, slap on your sunscreen this is an outdoor natural aquarium like no other.

This was a better-than-expected location to visit. so much so, that it prompted the boys to trek back to the car to put on their swimmers and go swimming.

Great spot for a sunset or a rock pool dip. It's cold, as we're a bit far from summer, but the place is gorgeous and worth checking. We'll be back.
