Pialligo Smokehouse Pizza

Ordered pick up on a blustery cold winter weeknight, and was not disappointed! Had the Just the Two of You Box, which included a salad, charcuterie box, garlic pizza and another pizza of your choice. We went with the capricciosa, and asked for no added salt as we'd previously found the pizzas (from a separate tasting event) too salty.

What they delivered hit just the spot! The toppings on the capricciosa were plentiful and well balanced, and the garlic pizza was crispy and flavourful. The only thing I would say is that the base was just a tad doughy and chewy - maybe they could refine their recipe a bit.

The charcuterie box was a lovely way to start the night, and the smoked duck was just divine. The smoked meats was the highlight though. This mob knows how to do meats right! Service was outstanding as well. Would definitely go back!

After a good climbing sesh at Bloc Hous, we were hungry and decided to give Pialligo Urban a go, and were glad we did!
We walked up to the window and had a good chat, we were recommended the Carnivore and the Salsicce Pizzas. Great recommendations, took about 8 minutes to prepare and cook.
We took them home and we had to stop ourselves from eating both pizzas, they were so good.
The toppings were fresh and very tasty and the base really let these flavours shine.
We'll be back!

Well - I've heard a fair bit about Pialligo - but never been out to the restaurant.

So tonight, I "Cooked a lamb roast" for Mum. Specifically a lamb shoulder.

Rang the guys up - ordered the shoulder; gave them the time I wanted to come and pick it up, and came in when it was ready. It pretty much ready a couple of minutes after I arrived.

Drove home and served up. I'm going to keep this simple. Yes - it's a bit expensive - but it was sooooo good. Super tasty, fall apart lamb with some great flavoured red win jus. What more could you ask for?

I was a bit worried when I saw it, thinking there wasn't a lot. Ended up serving three people. 2 People went back for seconds (I can barely move!) and there's still left overs for tomorrow.

Hands down the best pizza in Canberra. Using only fresh ingredients from their smokehouse and estate, Pialligo Pizza has absolutely nailed it with these reasonably priced and delicious pizzas. Would recommend and will definitely be back!

We picked up pizza tonight and are lucky enough to live right across the street, it was so hot and fresh 🙌🏻 We had the margarita and Verdura and they were amazing! Ready super quick and my boyfriend said the guys were really really lovely =) can't wait to try more!

Pizza was super thin base and still crispy. Delivered quickly and piping hot. Best takeaway pizza we’ve had in ages!! (Ordered on Uber eats)

I dont understand any review that's not 5 stars, we had this pizza last night when everywhere else was busy, we expect an average pizza, complete opposite! so damn amazing. Best pizza we've had in years

Ups and downs all over.

Spaghetti, I don't ever opt to order it but Pialligo Urban does it damn well, very flavorful, cooked to perfection with chunks of wagyu mince. Paired with the garlic bread pizza (yes), it made for a very pleasant experience.

The braised beef cheeks are somewhat odd - the texture is divine but the flavors are just...unusual, not something I'd expect from a savoury stew-like dish.

Lamb shoulder is a hands-down winner, admittedly too much on the salty side but the CRISP on the skin is amazing, and the meat falls right off the bone. Hedonistically juicy. Almost perfect. Almost.

Charcuterie was a letdown. The pickled vegetables were refreshing and the duck was wonderfully decadent (I've not seen such a precise cut and delightfully thick layer of skin in a while), but the rest of the offerings were not particularly impressive; reminded me of cheap deli offerings for a quick fiver lunch.

Sides are okay, root veg wasn't phenomenal, beetroot was actually unpleasantly bitter. Red wine jus tho? Generous in both amount and flavor.

Overall good effort, but doesn't exactly justify the price as it's still rough around the edges.

Pizza is good, and was quick, but I paid extra for mushrooms on the garlic pizza, and it didn't come with mushrooms at all. A little disappointing.

Ordered a chicken pizza and a 4 cheese pizza with sausages. Unfortunately didn't check the pizza at pickup. Received a 4 cheese pizza eith sausages and another 4 cheese pizza. Cant be a mixup at issuing as boxes had my name written on them.

Ordered online 2 pizzas paid for them, got a text to pick them up. When I got there place was not open. Quite a disappointment but only the start. When next time asking what had happen - the rudest girl ever just had no interest in solving the issue. The place is a joke. Also, I never got refunded my purchase. Absolute joke.

Just as an update: multiple emails and phone calls but this place don't bother to reply to emails and when calling them they promise every time to investigate and get back to you without ever doing so. Sad to see that pualligo don't care about their customers. Will never recommend this place to anyone. The word in Braddon is as well that people have got food poisonings after eating here. Maybe should be happy after all that they only stolen my money instead of killing me with their pizzas...
