Renmark Paringa Community Museum

Taken back in time!
What a wonderful collection of timeless pieces. On our arrival we were greeted by Wayne who offered to give us a tour of the museum. Some old memories were brought back on drinking school yard milk in small little glass bottles & sometimes curdling in the bottle.
A donation box is available at the end to keep the memories alive.
Thankyou Wayne for having so much knowledge and enthusiasm.
A must mention the 600 year old Red River Gum root and the story behind the retrieval from river.

Fantastic outdoor museum lovingly maintained by locals. Check out the interesting items and linger to hear stories from the locals. Time your visit to see the 230pm Paringa bridge lift that you can watch with a front row seat on the banks.

My family and I came across this place by accident but what a pleasure. I was interested in the machinery at first but the old settlers cottage was an excellent find. Very nice people who tell you all about it as well. So, if you are a lover of a bit of good Australian history in a fun and somewhat tactile way then this is for you!

Loved all the old machinery, great to know more about the past and what it was like back then. Lovely stuff, showed us around the place and about the history of it. The price to get in should go up, I think it's too low. Definitely be going back there in the future.

I believe this was called a Trying Plate. We found your display great, the best we have seen of farm machinery. Vin Manly Numurkah.

Good for kids

You can see machines dated 1912 which is still in working condition. The guide not only explained about the artefacts but also gave us a brief on the history of Renmark. Worth the visit.

We came on the wrong day it was shut. Next time we are up this way we will make sure it is open. The volunteers do a great job they work hard so visitors can see the history. It looked great from outside the fence too
