I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Taffy Coaching for Math and Chemistry. Taffy, Jake, Candy, and Danny are amazing tutors who genuinely care about the well-being and success of their students. One thing that truly sets Taffy Coaching apart is their commitment to individualised support. If you ever find yourself struggling to grasp a concept in class, they always make time to provide one-on-one explanations until you feel confident.

Taffy goes above and beyond by offering invaluable mentoring tips, not just limited to academics. He provides guidance on scholarship applications, university choices, suitable degrees, recommended subjects, and effective time management strategies.

You're encouraged to ask questions, fostering a comfortable learning environment where no query is too small or too complex. You'll also be provided with a wealth of resources - practice papers, question banks, notes.

And, since libraries often close early, having a good environment to study in on holidays or in the later evening, is invaluable. Taffy provides access to study rooms for all his students. It's a real game-changer! I cannot recommend Taffy Coaching services enough!

I have pretty bad ADHD, and never really though that I would succeed to any extent in the HSC, despite hearing countless stories of similar kids pulling their game together and acing all their subjects. The one subject i particularly struggled in was maths which I could never get my head around, and it didn't help me that i hated it fiercely. I had previously joined many tutoring places and tried many private tutors, so many infact that i would be able to recall each one individually. The final math tutor I ever signed up with would be with Taffy coaching, and out of 12 or so different math tutors i am personally convinced that he was the only one who genuinely cared about my schooling. One example being his "inspirational lectures" which i called them, they would come up almost every second weekend when i had neglected the weeks worth of homework the tutor had set me because i thought youtube and bludging a better use of time. Each lecture was firm and spanned from 10-20 mins which now looking back, Taffy took out of his own time. One such lecture took place at 9:00pm after a night session maybe a week before the trials, to which after lecturing me about work ethics and being wary about catching the flu before exams with very tired eyes, he closed the door locked up and turned all his lights off, and I remember standing there feeling rather touched that a man would dedicate his own time to some bludger (which i was).

Now dear parent, in the discussion of math results they did come in due time however from year 11 to the trials my math results were pretty dismal (like 50%s,60%s, and 70%s at best), however this was only due to my early rejection of the entire schooling and tutoring system. Just like any skill or task which one wishes to excel in, it requires GRIND which i did not possess nor any natural mathematical capability. In this area i believe is where the credit of Taffy and his tutors really shines. From the beginning of Year 12 to the very last session the week before the HSC, every weekend the Taffy coaching system made me grind and gradually shifted me to care about Maths. My school (which shall go unnamed) taught me with out exaggeration virtually nothing, which was a result of a garbage schooling system and the fact I spent every class talking and sparring with my friends. In year 12 the weekends with Raff (my last tutor) were a way to catch up with everything in the week and solidify all the content which had to be learnt. Having finished everything i can state that Taffy literally carried standard math for me. I can further attest that his homework system was also brilliantly effective in teaching topics (the few times i completed them). On one occasion a few weeks before the Trials, I completed 2 weeks of Trigonometry homework which resulted in me having squared away so firmly that I aced every Trig question in the Trials and I can guarantee the same for my HSC. Now the point I'm trying to make is that, by no means was I a perfect student to begin with nor to end with, infact many nights before the HSC exams consisted of hours of youtube, however in the end i achieved an 80% in maths (which was pretty big for me) and an 82.4 ATAR. I truly believe that without Taffy coaching i would not have even passed maths as a subject. I would highly recommend this place for all students and ADHD kids ( however they must find the motivation within themselves at some point and prepare themselves for the Long Haul which Taffy will bring them through).

I have attended various tutoring centres throughout Primary and High School, but Taffy Coaching is the only centre that I can truly recommend to anyone. I have always had apprehension toward Maths, leading to undesirable results, but when I joined Taffy Coaching in Year 8, Taffy and Winnie assured me that they could help with that. I am now in Year 12, and I can proudly say that I enjoy Maths and achieve results that I am proud of. Taffy and his tutors are enthusiastic and encouraging, allowing students to thrive and learn. The smaller classes enable individualised support and tailored lessons that ensure every student can understand difficult concepts. I cannot recommend Taffy Coaching enough.

I had Danny and Jake as my Chemistry tutors, both of whom have tremendously changed my perspective on Chemistry and substantially improved my results over the past 2 years. Danny’s enthusiastic teaching methods transformed my understanding of Chemistry and brought along an enjoyment and confidence toward the subject, thus resulting in improved marks. Moreover, Jake’s unlimited amount of resources given to each student allows for more practice with questions covered in exams and hence, familiarity with certain concepts. Additionally, Oliver is also an amazing tutor who consistently ensured students' understanding before continuing onto further topics, and with this, lessons were tailored to fit our own needs and pace. Tutors at Taffy Coaching know each student's learning capabilities and are always willing and able to further explain concepts by changing their methods to guarantee students' understanding.

I had Mohan as my Maths tutor for the majority of my High School years, and Raphael for the last term of Year 12, with both tutors creating supportive learning environments and significantly improving my marks and approach towards Maths. As someone who struggled in Maths from Primary School, joining Taffy Coaching in High School was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Mohan was one of my first tutors at Taffy Coaching, and he has consistently ensured students' understanding of concepts and has been able to exponentially improve my marks in Maths by forging a supportive learning environment in which students are always encouraged to ask questions without any fear of being embarrassed. Additionally, Mohan can engage students by applying real life scenarios to topics. I had Raphael in the last term of Year 12, and in that short period of time, he was able to consolidate each student's understanding of their weaker topics before external exams began by assigning quizzes and going through each question with the class, reminding us of the foundation from Junior years necessary in order to answer them, hence connecting Senior topics and content together in a way that we could understand.

Taffy and Winnie are exceptional, they go above and beyond anything I have experienced at any other tutoring centre. They know each student personally, and their learning capabilities, and with this, can assign us revision on weaker topics for more practice. They have an unlimited amount of resources available for their students and are always able to offer guidance on university and scholarship applications. Taffy and his tutors genuinely care for their students - they don’t only focus on the marks you get; they also focus on your mental and physical wellbeing. During exam periods, they always ensure that we get enough sleep, stay healthy, eat proper foods, and stay as relaxed as we can. When I first joined Taffy Coaching, the thing that stood out to me most about it was that Taffy and his tutors build personal relationships with each student. At Taffy Coaching, you aren’t just a number, they sincerely care for you, and this is something very rare within other tutoring centres.

I seriously cannot recommend Taffy Coaching enough, do not miss the opportunity to receive the best guidance and resources from Taffy and his tutors.

For the many years I have been at Taffy Coaching, never I have seen a more dedicated and hardworking team working for the success of their students. I can confidently say that Taffy Coaching has been instrumental reaching my higher education path I have wanted. Without them, I would not be where I am today. My favourite thing about Taffy Coaching is that I was never a star student but I was felt that I was improving and valued in their classes. I went from struggling in year 7 maths to Extension Class by year 9 and now about to sit Advanced and Extension Maths in year 12. I developed strong relationships with my tutors and saw the great effort and sacrifices they made for all their students.

My daughter has improved her maths grades significantly with a lot of hard work especially from Taffy and the team. More importantly she has gained huge confidence in her own abilities and achieved her highest ever score last term. Couldn’t recommend Taffy Coaching enough! They’ve put immense personalised effort into ensuring each of their students improve, such as; reading through exams, providing study help and study rooms on the weekends and an array of past papers and quizzes. With their help, my maths standard ranking has risen from the mid 60s to 3rd from the start of year 12 to trials. Thanks to Taffy and the team, I would highly recommend.

A great coaching centre. I have had multiple tutors here over the years and each have been very helpful in helping me achieve my academic goals. I have ranked 11th in chemistry at my school by means of Taffy coaching (and I am not particularly a natural STEM student). Overall a great facility which will help you reach your academic potential if you are willing to put in the work. The tutors are aware of each students academic needs and show a personal interest in there academic performance through there attention to detail.

Put simply, Candy and the other teachers at Taffy Coaching are the reason my Mathematics Advanced rank improved from the mid-forties in Year 11 to second by the time the HSC exam came around; coaching did significantly more for my rank than the instruction I received at school. While some may think coaching in senior years is a relatively inaccessible service which requires you to have undertaken tutoring since kindergarten, Taffy Coaching was both very accessible and effective despite being my first encounter with a professional tutoring service. I have, and will continue to, recommend Taffy Coaching to anyone seeking better marks, regardless of their current academic ability – trust me, it works wonders.

Best maths teach I've ever met.

Taffy is most responsible teacher, and full of passion. Taffy teaches according to students' strengths and weakness, and his feedback to homework and exams are extremely helpful. He is so good at stimulating students' interest in maths and help them to set up and achieve their goals. My kid lost interest in maths in year 10, and Taffy helped to build up our confidence and guided us from 3U to 4U. We are very pleased with the result, many thanks Taffy!

Yichen pretty much said everything I wanted to say. In all seriousness though, the improvements I've seen at Taffy Coaching have been phenomenal. In year 8 I was getting in the realm of 60% for my math exams. Fast forward to year 12 and I'm 2nd for Math Ext 1 (taught by Candy) and 5th for Math Ext 2 (taught by Taffy) internally at a fully selective school. In addition I'm top 10 in both physics (also taught by Candy) and chemistry (taught by Jake and Danny).

I have a lot of friends who go to other tutoring centres, and I myself have been to 1 or 2 others, and a large part of why I chose to stay at Taffy is how personalised the teaching is. Most other centres follow a strict course progression throughout the year (eg. Mod 1 > 2 > 3 > ... > 8 for chem and phys), however some schools do not adhere to this traditional timeline. For example, my school, Fort Street, did mod 4 before mod 3 (phys) and vectors before complex numbers (ext2). Other schools I've heard about include Saint Scholastic, which does mod 7 chem before mod 5 and 6, and NSB, who did their trials (final internal year 12 exams) term 2 week 7 instead of the traditional term 3 week 2/3. In all of these cases, Taffy would find a way to accommodate for these changes, such as making separate classes, scheduling extra ones or simply moving faster or teaching with the same schedule.

Another differentiating factor is that while other tutoring centres are saturated with only top performing selective and private school students, Taffy Coaching caters to students of all levels. This means that Taffy takes a different approach to every student, most commonly putting students in classes mostly based on their needs first and foremost. Most of the time, this doesn't result in many huge changes, the environment at Taffy Coaching is such that there is no shame in students coming to classes of lower year level, for instance, to reinforce their foundations. I myself have been to classes that have taught year 11 content as a year 12 because the content is still applicable. Overall, it allowed me to strengthen my foundations more.

On the flip side, if you are a top-level student, Taffy Coaching's unique approach also benefits you. For example if he thinks you're ready (in which case you likely are), or if you're accelerated, he won't hesitate to put you in a class above your year level. However, unlike other centres, he doesn't accelerate students too far ahead. This is because he understands that learning ahead doesn't automatically translate to better grades. I personally fell into this camp. He advised me to not take accelerated maths advanced and extension 1 in year 9, and I can confidently say I definitely dodged a bullet when I had a look at the paper and the results for last year (when I would have done my HSC if I was accelerated).

After everything Taffy Coaching has done for me, the least I could do is offer any inquiring students my experience with this institution.

Our daughter have been coming to Taffy for 2 years now and I can't say enough of positive things about them. Both Winnie and Taffy are wonderful and caring people. Their approach to tutoring is unique and balanced, and they emphasis specific needs on each students. We are extremely happy with our daughter's progress thus far, she is more confident with her ability in both Maths and English and of course her school reports have improved since.

The tutors who work here are all highly invested in the wellbeing and performance of their students, and go above and beyond accordingly. I started coaching here in year 11 following a weekend summary course which enabled me to finally understand the content we had covered in school. In my time up to the HSC, Taffy, Danny and Candy, were able to replicate this experience in every lesson- transforming maths and chemistry from subjects that I found to be headache into something I looked forward to. Part of the reason for this was Taffy’s dedication to understanding my initial starting point and reinforcing the value of dedication in reaching a realistic goal. I feel extremely lucky to have found their services and I could not recommend them enough.

I reached out to Taffy after finding out some of my daughter’s good friends were doing their HSC math tutoring there and getting good marks.

In the past 10 months heading to HSC exam, Taffy was extremely helpful and supportive to my daughter’s math learning. When she was not occupied enough with her Math study because of devoting her time to other subjects, Taffy alarmed us immediately and we could work together to get her back to track.

In the end she got a satisfied E4 mark in her Math Ext 1. We could not describe how much we appreciated Taffy’s support to my daughter - Not a lot tutoring places can put effort / care into such an individual level. We highly recommend Taffy coaching.

Taffy's coaching service is excellent, especially for senior students looking to improve their results in the final years of school. Taffy himself is dedicated to making sure students stay organised with schoolwork, and Oliver is an engaging and effective tutor who I would highly recommend.

My daughter has been going to Taffy for a number of years to help improve her Maths. She hated maths in primary school and was in remedial Maths class in year 4 and 5. Taffy was able to change that around for her and now she's in year 9 and learning year 10 subjects at Taffy. She loves it! Taffy's teaching methods have built her confidence and interest in 100 fold. To the point that it's become one of her strongest and favourite subjects. The effort they put in to each individual child to help them overcome any problems they may have is really incredible. Before attending coaching with Taffy, my mentality around schoolwork was fairly disorganised and unmotivated. However, once I started attending chemistry lessons with Danny and maths with Taffy, I started to become a better student that was more disciplined and motivated. Not only did their lessons provide me with a comprehensive understanding of the content - something that school often failed to do - they also provided extremely valuable information regarding study habits and what it would take to get the best out of my self. Upon reflection, I think the most valuable things Taffy Coaching taught me were the lessons of working hard consistently and being realistic of the competition. I have now left school not only with an ATAR I'm proud of, but with a skillset that will serve me well in University and whatever field I choose to venture into.

Taffy, whom I have had since year 10 to year 12 for Mathematics Extension 1 and 2 is a very enthusiastic teacher and is dedicated to teaching all his students for them to attain the best results they can possibly achieve. Danny is eager to help his students excel in Chemistry wherein he lends us his experience and wisdom as a past high school student and current university student. A great learning environment where all students are committed to quietly working hard and smart together and a tutoring centre that covers all content thoroughly with numerous resources to further practise our mathematical or chemistry skills. All students listen attentively to Taffy/Danny and students can ask questions to clarify concepts or for teachers to explain any difficult homework questions or past paper questions they may have. A 10/10 learning experience which led to an enjoyable high school career where Taffy and Danny encourage us to work to our maximum potential and provided us with an immense amount of support when facing any hardships. Even throughout the pandemic, they were able to adapt quickly to an online learning environment, and continued to teach us with their multiple resources and excellent teaching skills. I have proudly recommended Taffy Coaching to many friends and family members, and all of them love it! Even recommended it to a lady I met by an elevator as she had asked me for the best tutoring centres around Sydney for her high school son! Crazy how I could say I would miss weekend tutoring!
