Strawberry Hill is known as being the first farm in Western Australia. Entry is free for the members of the National Trust.

The entire vast garden was completed by volunteers, which is truly remarkable. We caught the guided tour at 12:15 PM, and with the help of the volunteers, we explored the historic homestead, learning about the living conditions of that time, which was very vivid and interesting. This is a place where you can spend half a day appreciating the colourful gardens and learning about the life of the pioneers. You can also relax in the visitor centre with its large glass windows and chat with the enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff to gain a deeper understanding of the local culture.

There are also many friendly lizards in the yard and on the roof.

If you are visiting Albany or live here and have never been to Strawberry Hill Farm, you are missing out on some of WAs most important history. The tour guide we had, Brian was fabulous with incredible knowledge on this place. His tour was very informative and he was very interesting to listen to. He went over and above and am sure he spent way much more time doing the tour with us than he should be. So it was great value as well. Well worth it.

We had lovely weather on the day of our visit. Spring, so a lot of flowers in the garden. Had a private tour of the small cottage, which was jam packed with all sorts of donated furniture, household appliances, clothing and bric a brac from the time of the original owner onwards. Very interesting and guide knew about every single item on site.

We visited this beautiful place back at the end of November, with friends. We arrived mid afternoon, I think tours had finished for the day, but the lovely ladies served us up coffees, tea & delicious cakes. Then Carolyn, an absolute gem of a lady offered to take us around the grounds & house. She was wonderful & the history is fascinating. When I mentioned I was English & my maiden name was "Bird", same as the last owner of Strawberry Hill, it made for an entertaining & funny afternoon. We all loved our time there & highly recommend a visit if you are visiting Albany.

Highly recommended visiting. My partner and I had a guided tour of the building by volunteer Carolyn. She was very knowledgeable and detailed. We left with a far greater understanding and appreciation of life in Albany in the 1800s.
Tickets are reasonably priced at 10$ each for adults.

I hardly write reviews but I HAD to after a wonderful experience in Strawberry Hill.
Partner and I came from Perth and only had a few days in Albany; the weather was great the day before but it was wet today hence we decided to do "indoor-sy" stuff. We came around 1pm and the next guided tour was scheduled to be at 1.45pm yet the friendly lady was so chill and got the tour started immediately.
Brian was our guide, he was knowledgeable and witty. We learnt a lot about Albany and the history of the farm. We highly recommend the tour if it's your first time in Albany and as for us, we might drop by again after the wallpaper is done ;)

I visited back in 2019 and every time I drive past it's a lovely reminder of a great time. The tour guide took myself and a friend through, and had so many interesting facts to tell us about the place. It was a great look into the history of Albany. The gardens are gorgeous too, and well worth a visit.
