Fetherstone Gardens yesterday. The weather was was much to nice to stay at home.. So many beautiful flowers and trees. Such a pleasure to walk there🥀🏵💐🌸🌺💚💛💜
And it is maintained solely by volunteers with grants by the ACT Government..

Beautiful place. A small lotus pond adjoining a long tunnel wrapped with creepers is beautiful. A small ptch of pear and apple trees for kids. The trees are pruned and kept short for access. Many kangaroos and rabbits to keep kids engaged. Lovely shady spots and benches to sit around or have a picnic. Avoid a dog off leash due kangaroos. Cudn spot a rest room.

Fetherston Gardens is improving every month. A great variety of flora and fauna in such a small space. A huge thanks to the volunteers who give time and energy to make these gardens special for all the Weston Creek and Canberra residents.

I agree with Scott - this is indeed a lovely spot. The Fetherston Gardens Friends maintain the 3.5 hectare space through their weeding, planting and mulching. This small group of volunteers are amazing. They target small areas at a time on working bees days (last Sunday and second Wednesday of the month). This group are supported by the ACT Government (tree lopping and mulch, water and mowing) and the Weston Creek Community Council. The Garden is well worth a visit and are always looking for volunteers.

Beautiful & lush historical garden in Weston. Restored back to its former glory by a group of dedicated volunteers. A green oasis in the suburbs.

Beautiful park - believe these used to be part of the old CIT grounds (which is now the Islamic school). The Weston Creek Community Council volunteers have done a top notch job of maintaining this fantastic resource.

Whilst it'd be great to have a toilet available, the facilities that are the are nice (seats, picnic tables etc.).

Perfect place to take the family for a picnic.

I walk my doggo through the park most mornings and the work that goes into the park is amazing. I wish some other dog owners would respect the park and also keep their dogs on leads tho.

A hidden Gem in Weston Creek - great for picnics and walks. We'd love to see it used more, and look forward to the Gardens being restored to their best in future years. More interpretive signage and information would be great.

Gorgeous gardens which used to be a teaching space for CIT but now are open to everyone to enjoy. The wisteria and espaliered apple and pear trees are particularly gorgeous in spring.

I studied under Tony Fetherston at the-then Canberra School Of Horticulture in 1977-1978. Tony was one of the most inspiring human beings that I've known. The world was a lesser place when Tony passed, and may these very special gardens always remain, and be lovingly tended, as a tribute to him.

It is a hidden secret. A small memorial and all sorts of gems, remnants of the old Ag college - like a fish pond. Great for a picnic and for kids to explore. Plenty of shade.
