Kean Anne Maree Dr (Endocrinologist)

After I read a few of these reviews I was a little apprehensive but was all in all as positive experience as you can get from a diabetes doctor. She was clear from the outset that there was a lot of new info, I'd feel overwhelmed and could call her with questions at any time (which I did). She provided positive reinforcement when I was headed in right direction which I found motivating. We even had a few giggles along the way. Getting folks to change diet and exercise is no easy task and very personal for some but I thought her approach worked wel.

Strange to see bad reviews here... Have been the patient of Dr Kean for years now. And she always was really professional, helpful, no time wasted, but not on the hurry either, always ready to listen, and to give an advice, always explain a plan of actions. A pleasure to deal with! I already recommended her to the family members as a really god doctor. Highly recommend.

Professional, passionate and direct. I would have it no other way.For over 3 years she has had my health and well being as a priority. i wish i had listened to her earlier. i finally fully applied all her advice, treatment plans and changed my ways. its been 6 months, lost a lot of weight and i have never felt better. i only see the best doctors and she is best doctor i have seen, period.

Dr Kean is an absolute professional, and I really value her direct nature which is equally considerate. She helped address my thyroid concerns promptly after years of issues

I initially gave Dr Kean a much higher 'score'.
I saw her for thyroid issues 4 years ago. Simple. Followed what had to be done and follow-up appointments etc.
About a year after seeing her I had to see a Rheumatologist as I was struggling to walk, had severe psoriasis and lived with a world of excruciating pain.
So I then start down that road. Many combinations of medication, having to take steroids for a long period. Weight gain, fatigue, depression, etc.
My Rheumatologist is amazing. Reassuring, positive, supportive. Not focused on one thing, but a holistic approach.
Had to see an Orthopaedic surgeon due to severe calcific tendonitis in my shoulder and destroyed rotator cuff.
At my last two appointments with Dr Kean all she did was fat shame me. Yep. I left feeling so sad and embarrassed.
She's updated by my Rheumatologist, she would have known I've been struggling to walk due to a torn plantar fascia and bone damage, but no, make me feel worse.
I cancelled my last appointment with her and got some scathing letter she sent to my GP, basically saying how bad I was for cancelling.
I'll be looking for a new Endocrinologist. Living with severe Psoriatic Arthritis is hard enough without being made to feel the way she made me feel.

Dr Kean may have been able to maintain a monopoly of patients due to convenience of location. This is why I had elected a referral to their practice - since it was close-by in the inner west. I did not have a good experience, the thought of which still remains with me many years on. Unfortunately this has to do with the lasting impression they made in their disrespect, dismissive attitude, and lack of scientific clarity. As a professional myself in the sciences/engineering, I have come to appreciate that their position was unfair and unkind, and opportunist. In short, I wish I had made a different choice, and I hope others may consider all reviews when making their choice. Frankly I hope that Dr Kean’s practice may read these reviews and be conscious of the responsibility and consequences that they bear for their clients.

Dr Kean will not say "I don't know" when faced with a complex patient with complex symptoms, instead she will question your sanity, talk down to you and tell you that your very real physiological symptoms are "anxiety". I now have answers for what was happening from better doctors (POTS and hEDS) but 4 years later and I'm still having therapy for medical trauma and Dr Kean has lived rent-free in my brain for far too long. Dr Kean also nearly killed my friend and left them with permanent nerve damage because she was completely irresponsible with her use of medication. Chronically ill friends, stay away. There are better endocrinologists out there for you - don't give up and settle for this mid-rate doctor.

Dealing with Dr Marees office has been such an unpleasant experience. Being spoken down to on the phone by the doctor herself like I was an idiot after following all protocols. Their office had no Internet or phone line connected for over a week so trying to get in touch was a nightmare. They didn't send my referrals to the eye Dr in time, and there was no way to contact them, so had to pay the full ammount upfront without medicare rebates. Called to cancel a automated sheduled appointment with reception and they didn't cancel it, then get horrible phone call from Dr on the said appointment day. Dr is cold and unfriendly and experience was very unprofessional.

Absolutely horrible experience with Kean. She is intimidating, smug, expensive and full of judgement and has little to no sensitivity! Her receptionist is just as bad. They make you wait forever, rush your appointment to 10mins or less and charge you BIG for it. A blood test request form that took her 30 seconds to scribble on costs $20 (GP’s request blood tests for free) and each session no matter how little happens or how quick will cost $150-$300 each time!

Parking is a pain and their high and mighty attitude’s did nothing to even help my health concern.

When my sister saw her for Hyper thyroid and depression concerns (after losing almost 25kg In less then 6months), Kean told her to “not worry about it as she needed to loose that weight anyway!”

Avoid her like the plague!

The worst experience I've ever had with a specialist and I have had ongoing health issues my entire life. Her attitude was dangerous for my mental state at the time. The minute I walked in she told me there was nothing wrong with me and essentially blamed me for my health issues, the fact that I had a short term eating disorder 7 years prior that I had successfully recovered from. She weighed me and asked me if my 'high weight' bothered me to a point of trying to get a reaction out of me which was void as I'm very comfortable with my weight. My BMI was a healthy 24. She tried to pull strings at my own lifestyle to find reasons why it was my fault of which there aren't any. I ended up being later diagnosed with very severe PCOS - an endocrine disorder - that had caused me anxiety and depression. I walked out shaken and it took a long time for me to recover from not only her consultation with me but her horrible, cold demeanour in which she spoke at me as I was in such a vulnerable state. When I paid $270 for her consultation I felt like I was being robbed but I was so in shock upset I just wanted to leave.

She is the worst specialist that I’ve ever been in a consultation!!!!

she is rude, aggressive and has no filter to talk with a patient.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE
