Good place to get blood taken , only issue is parking can be painful otherwise professional and easy

This morning at Royal Park old Pt road medical centre while waiting for my blood test , due to covid it is compulsory to wear a mask , there were 2 people not wearing masks but she allowed them in, also the chair doesn't get cleaned between patients and if you don't sign in with the sa gov covid app you sign in on a paper copy and that is the same pen everyone before you used , I made sure I used their sanitiser to wash the chair .

Good phlebotomy service although let down by unfriendly reception staff and shabby interior.

I have done my blood test before 9:30 am, it's urgent same day result..but nothing happened, no results back to my doctor.. this is second time happened. For urgent same day results involved different medications,it's very important to give the results on the same day.. I am very unhappy with this.. I went to pathology in Mile End ,lab just upstairs, don't need to travel/ collect because its urgent... It's very bad you told me your lab can do same day results, and actually you cannot do it.. I asked manage reply by email, but nothing happened at all..
This Lab is not reliable..

Not going there again, they take 3-4 business days for providing respiratory test results. Very inconvenient when you are very sick and waiting for doctor to put you on antibiotics after checking results of the test. Staff is really good though but time guidelines are through the roof

Do not recommend this company or Norwood branch. If I could leave no stars for this awful company I would. Never in my life have I had such a terrible experience . The opening hours are ridiculous and if you work don’t bother trying this company as it would be impossible to get a blood test done in work hours. The waiting time was huge! Everyone moved at a glacial pace. To add insult to injury, I now have to go get another blood test today because they didn’t take enough blood yesterday ! I clearly said, make sure you take enough vials so I don’t have to do this again before surgery. Yet they didn’t take enough blood, probably because the blood was slow flowing, they couldn’t be bothered waiting for it. It was really painful, moving the needle around in my arm to get the blood going and the pathology person was painfully slow. For someone with a phobia about needles this is quite traumatic and having very small veins damaged by chemotherapy makes it so much harder.

Refused to do INR point of care even though it was on request form .Test strips to expensive apparently ! Cost cutting at its worst.

After confirmed they would see my austistic son, they then turned him away saying it's too hard..no attempt to even try, just took one look at him and said no!!

Absolutely NO parking at Mile End collection centre/laboratory. Located on the busy Sir Donald Bradman Drive at Mile End and inside a huge old complex along with 15 to 20 other businesses all crammed in together. Cars are only allowed to park in allocated spaces of which Abbott Pathology have less than a handful. Parking inspectors are constantly checking and even clamping vehicles that don't pay attention to the confusing, worn out, faded signage. Unless you're catching the bus (bus stop is located directly out the front of the building) then do yourself a favour and don't even bother to go there. What an absolute joke.
