Northside Family Dental

Shilpa has been my dentist since I've been a kid and her service is second to none. Professional, friendly, reasonably priced and never a long wait. Reception and other staff members are also very pleasant and friendly. Cannot recommend enough.

I was recommended this practice, however make sure you book with Dr Shilpa. She is an excellent dentist and has exceptional skills. In addition to this she is an absolutely lovely person to deal with. Dr Shilpa will be the only dentist my wife and I will see in Canberra. Many thanks. Stephen D.

Many people – especially children – worry about a trip to the dentist. I was a bit like that until I started going to Dr Shilpa Kalburgi about 16 years ago. Shilpa makes the visit a very pleasant experience, even if you are having major work. I have first hand experience of this. She is calm and has a kind nature, and explains exactly very clearly what needs to be done and the options available. In the time that I’ve been visiting Shilpa, I have had 2 children (as has Shilpa!), both of whom are now patients of Shilpa. Even though I live much further away now, I am happy to travel back to Canberra to see Shilpa. Neither of my children mind going to the dentist because they know they’re going to see Shilpa. My 8 year old daughter required a filling last week and didn't complain for a moment about the prospect of hopping into the chair. Not only is Shilpa a lovely person, but a very experienced professional who looks after all of her patients with the utmost care, so I can’t recommend Northside Family Dental enough. I’ll say it again, Dr Shilpa Kalburgi makes a dental appointment a pleasant experience. Seriously!

My first visit to Dr Shilpa was an emergency whilst on holiday. I’m terrified of dentists, yet she made me feel safe, talked to me and calmed me.
Once we moved here permanently there was no question who I picked to be my regular dentist. Dr Shilpa has always respected my fears, been so patient with me through whatever treatment I require. I appreciate that her appointments can run late because she isn’t rushed and takes time with those of us who are nervous.
I utilise the on-line booking service and have always been able to book to meet my needs. The follow up reminder texts and phone call from reception are also much appreciated.

I have really bad teeth from years of medications and surgeries. I recently had an extremely painful dental abscess I needed treatment for and the tooth extracted. I had not been here before, but as I had an emergency voucher from ACT health they were close and able to see me within the hour. Dr Shilpa was so kind (I was in tears from the pain) and knowledgeable. I explained issues I had in the past with extractions and issues with anesthetic and she made sure I felt NOTHING. I have had rough extractions at other surgeries where I felt everything so it’s a bit traumatic for me usually! She was talking me through every step, asking if I was okay, so kind and knowledgeable. Extraction went perfectly and abscess was cleaned out.

Unfortunately I ended up with dry socket - nothing that Dr Shilpa did or didn’t do, just a common risk with extractions. Again, she got me in the same morning and treated me after I had been in so much pain for a few days. I am now not in pain!

I highly recommend this practice. Whether you are a full paying patient, a private health patient or a ACT health emergency dental voucher patient everyone is treated the same, with the same standard of quality And respect. No one is judged. No one is rushed. A+ team. I will be returning.

My daughter recently visited Northside Family Dental for the first time and the staff there were amazing. Our dentist Dr Elspeth was friendly and put my daughter's nerves at ease. Her professionalism and knowledge really showed when I had questions and concerns.

I went to the dentist today with apprehension about what I thought would be extensive and costly dental treatment. At the end of the day after two separate appointments I had a major filling, a tooth extracted and a whitening process implemented by the wonderful and hugely experienced Dr Nicholls and her trusty dental assistant. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Dr Shilpa was absolutely fantastic with my 6yr old who was understandably quite nervous having two teeth out. There was no sight or mention of needles or medication, it was all very calm and well managed. She was patient and took the time my child needed and explained everything in a way that kept him calm and understanding what was happening. Thank you!

I've been seeing Dr Shilpa Kalburgi for a number of years now, and she is the nicest, most pleasant dentist that I have ever been to. Not many people enjoy going to the dentist, but I don't mind it at all! If anything I feel quite relaxed when I get to lie down haha. The staff here are always nice and friendly. I've recommended my whole family to see Dr Kalburgi :)

I went to Northside Family Dental for emergency dental filling and I totally liked the gentle and pain free dental work from Dr Shilpa Kalburgi. Dr Kalburgi's communication skills were truly amazing, she gave me all the options to fix my tooth, explained them very clearly and provided me with excellent dental care.

I found their fees are reasonably priced, the receptionist is a lovely person who helped in time to secure an emergency appointment for my dental work.

My children have been seeing Dr Shilpa Kalburgi for years and in my opinion I would highly recommend this absolutely fantastic dental clinic in Gungahlin.

I can depend on Northside Family Dental whenever I need emergency dental appointment.
