10-15 min walk to get there after the car park with a slight incline. Beautiful trail.

Finally arriving at the falls. The view is so good! Very beautiful. A great swimming area too. A must see.

Saw a brown snake along the trails too which was exciting.

Gorgeous spot for a fresh swim. Wasn't to busy, the toilets were a big NO for me. It's a little bit of a wLk and you may feel it on the hamstrings but it's worth it. The water was a bit cool but so clear. The slide down the rock into the water was fun.

It’s a wet season in the area, so it’s cooler and nice to walk insidenthe rainforest, however, the water is high so not allowed to swim. The view is magnificent and not so crowded. Must visit when you are around Cairns. The facilities is well maintain and no charge for ticket.

Beautiful spot. Lovely fresh water. Be sure you're careful on the slippery rocks. Not recommended if you aren't a strong swimmer. Enjoy the photos of my partner going down the rock slide.

Our spontaneous stop was well worth the tangent. The falls are located off the main hwy and has toilets and information boards. The track up is a beautiful
pathway all the way to the platform lookouts. Disabled and mobility friendly and those with motorised wheelchair could go up as far as the platforms. Not a wide path. (stairs). Popular for swimming at own risk and experiencing the tropic rainforest with wildlife. Very serene with sweet clear creeks and family friendly.

Josephine Falls is a breathtaking natural wonder tucked away in the lush rainforests of Far North Queensland. Its cascading waters and tranquil surroundings make it an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking a refreshing escape into nature.

What an experience! Short, 700m, easy walk to the falls through a beautiful rainforest. Lookouts at different levels give plenty of opportunity for a beautiful photo shots. I enjoyed a “slide”. So much fun. Care should be taken when getting into the water as rocks are slippery.

This is the most exciting place to swim around the area. Unlike Babinda boulder where it's shallow and flat, Josephine falls can be challenging as the boulders and rocks can be slippery and the stream can be strong. Nice to sit around and let the water massage your back.

Not much undercurrent, but there has been recorded death in the dangerous areas hence the upper pool is a no go zone. This is well marked.

The middle and the lower pool are accessible. It's still open during the wet but there's some indicators where people are advised to take caution when they swim.

The are about 10-20 ish carparks.
Walking from the carpark to the upper pool is about 5-10mins one way, not wheelchair accessible.

If you only want to walk, spare about 20-30mins here, swimming about 30mins-1h.

Long drop toilet+ toilet paper available.
No hand washing liquid.
Not sure if the water is potable.

Enjoy a slip and slide on the smooth rocks into the water or enjoy the beauty of the falls or just go for a dip! It was beautiful and incredible. Not too far of a walk either!

This was our finest experience of a falls in north Queensland.
I think Josephine falls is a better place to hike for a kilometre and to have a masmarising view and a refreshing waterfall pool bath with a natural slide....
This place is better than babinda and Mosman gorge....
The place is underrated waterfall...

A delightful place to cool off and explore in the heat, a short walk from the car park with lots of interesting spiders and other wildlife.

We got recommended to visit here by some travellers we met at a campsite weeks ago, and we’re so glad we went!
There’s free parking, and just a short, small inclined walk to get there.
Absolutely stunning, the water was clear and we got to slide down rocks into the lagoon at the bottom!
I can’t recommend enough & would return in a heartbeat.

I literally fell in love with this iconic and beautiful place. Many flat stones that you could spend hours your time to enjoy waterfall and peace including have some cool swim with freshly water. Alao, on your way there are plenty of Banana farms.

Very pretty and natural falls! Visited due to a recommendation by the local at a caravan park, and it was really such a fun experience sliding down the rock! Be warned that the currents can be quite strong and it does get a bit scary for average swimmers (like me) to go against the current in order to get up to the sliding bit.

Regardless if you’re swimming, it’s still worth a visit as the drive is easy and the walk up is gentle. There’s also proper viewing platforms to see the falls even if you don’t dip!

August 2023. Absolutely stunning - highly recommend seeing and hopping in for a swim.

Easy drive there - can do it in a regular car - fully sealed road. Parking on site, and bathrooms available (drop loo).

Nice paved path all the way there. Short walk through lush greenery. Easy for all ages.

Swimming is a must - the water is crystal clear and bracing. We had water shoes which was handy for going over rocks (not necessary, plenty of people in thongs/sandals). Great fun siding down the smooth rock race and swimming in the rock pool. If you follow the sign posting, you’ll feel very safe.

Plenty of friendly people swimming. Some rock areas for sun baking and leaving gear while you swim.

We forgot the towels in the car, but dried off very quickly, so you can get by without.

You will feel a million dollars having gone for a swim - it is unbelievable! Highly recommend.

Can also recommend going to see the Golden Hole as you leave. Beautiful picnic spot, amenities and huge grass field with view of the river.

Along the way you’ll also see fruit stalls selling local papaya and other fruit.

Absolutely beautiful. The path to reach the falls is only 700m and is paved - nice and easy, and you could definitely do it with a pram. The swimming pool is beautiful, with so many little crevices and hiding holes. There were so many amazing electric blue dragonflies. Take care - the rocks can be slippery and the current can be stronger than it looks. There is a rock slide that people go down but I can't recommend it - saw many people slip at the top. If you go in the morning the water can be a bit cold! Be sure to obey the signs - if it says no swimming, then don't swim - it's not worth it. Would absolutely return one day .

Lovely place to come and visit, even if you are staying in Cairns. The current is quite strong, meaning only good swimmers should go for a dip. The fun rock waterslide is excellent as well, just make sure you don't lie down as you could hit your head. Excellent clear water.

What an amazing Waterfall and swimming hole, and so glad that we stopped by for an afternoon dip. The water fall had 4 different tiers and the water are crystal clear however you will need to be a competent swimmer to be able to swim. It's a 700m walk from the carpark but well worth it. Would love to go back one day. Really need to visit far Nth QLD for these natural wonders.
