Beautiful clear water. Lovely spot to swim. The walk to the top is paved all the way and well maintained. There are some steep sections. Mostly shaded walk. Plenty of stops along the way. No good reception after the carpark.

The area to swim was a really short walk from the car park. Accessible changerooms and bathrooms.

The water was so beautiful. Very cold but refreshing. Shallow throughout. Very scenic and relaxing.
The mayflies were a bit annoying but otherwise fine.

Would definitely come back again. :)

This place was very impressive. The riverbed had these massive boulders in them, and a very narrow area that the river flowed through these boulders. They were threatening signs everywhere, warning people not to swim, and showing how so many people had died by trying to swim in the area. It does look luring and looks like it would be easy to float down the river, and then you notice all the signs that show how people get trapped under the rocks and get trapped in underwater caves. I would never swim there, but to see the beautiful boulders and the water rush over them was pretty amazing definitely go visit here but don’t go swimming. There was a swimming hole that was at the beginning of the hike. That was a safe place to swim. We did not swim, but saw lots of people there.

Nice tucked away spot for swimming in crystal clear water. The water is refreshingly cold. A small 650m walk to the lookout.
Beware of the big black flies that bite around here. Use repellent.

Gets very crowded during the holidays so it's best to go early and there are bbqs available on grassed areas but it's worth every minute the water is cool great swimming spot. Sorry didn't take much pics as I was too busy swimming

Beautiful place to swim, if a bit chilly! Would recommend going down the trail, and looking at the amazing rock formations a bit further down from where you swim. Good how it has wheelchair access, with a ramp down to the pontoon that you can swim off. We also saw a Cassowary here, so watch out for them.

It's sooo good. The water current can be strong but manageable. This pool is still available even during the wet season. The water is very clear. The temperature is quite cold, suitable for sunny days.
The track along the upper boulder is breathtaking, a must see, only takes 10min one way on sealed track, but it can be slippery. The track is not wheelchair friendly but the main pool is.
Only the lower pool is available for swimming. The upper boulder is a no go zone as the current is strong and there had been fatal accidents posted everywhere to warn people not to swim.
Long drop toilet, water is not potable, no hand soap available.
10-20ish parking.

Spend about 30mins to walk up the track, swimming is about 30mins to 1 hour.

What a cool river, super clear, safe swim spots and beautiful scenery. However the dangers of swimming in forbidden zones is no joke.

This place is amazing. There’s a small free camping area within walking distance to the falls. The water is a bit cold but once your in it’s refreshing… there are no crocks here 😃. Just a really good place to have a break.

Great place for a swim and a short walk to the lookouts. We stopped there on our way form Cairns to Mission beach and we are glad we did !

Beautiful place! Too cold, would you believe, while we were there, for swimming but the swimming hole is superb. The walk was brilliant and because of having lots of rain the river was wild. Recommend a visit. And Kool Cafe in Babinda for lunch was delicious (good vegan options).

This is a truly magnificent place to visit. We'll worth the small detour from the brice highway and a pleasant drive through Babinda town. Swimming upstream in the slow water is allowed but dangerous amd not allowed lower down. Forest is amazing and the waterfalls through the boulders are a sight to behold. Paradise found.

Parking is close to the water. The amenities areared to be clean and well maintained. The walking trails are interesting and tropical. There is a good chance to see a cassowary if you are quiet. The water is cool clear and refreshing for a swim after a hike.

Nestled amidst the lush rainforest of Babinda, the Babinda Boulders is a natural wonder that leaves a lasting impression. Despite the rainy weather and foggy conditions during my visit, the sheer beauty and tranquility of this place still managed to captivate me.

The journey to the Babinda Boulders was an adventure in itself, with the mist-laden road adding an element of mystique to the experience. While the fog obstructed the panoramic views I had hoped for, it created an ethereal ambiance that enhanced the allure of the surroundings. The gentle sound of raindrops and the mist shrouding the towering boulders contributed to a serene atmosphere that felt like stepping into a different world.

The boulders, sculpted by the forces of nature over centuries, were truly awe-inspiring. These massive granite rocks, adorned with vibrant green moss and ferns, created a picturesque setting. Despite the limited visibility, I could sense the raw power and beauty of the crystal-clear waters that flowed around them. It was a reminder of nature's resilience and its ability to create breathtaking landscapes.

Exploring the walking trails around the Babinda Boulders was an invigorating experience, even in the rain. The rainforest canopy provided shelter from the downpour, and the air was filled with the earthy aroma of damp leaves and soil. The trails were well-maintained, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey, and the signage provided valuable information about the area's natural history and cultural significance.

The Babinda Boulders is not only a scenic marvel but also a culturally significant site for the local Indigenous people. I was moved by the stories and legends associated with this place, and it deepened my appreciation for the spiritual connection between the land and its traditional custodians.

While my visit to the Babinda Boulders was hindered by the weather conditions, I could still sense its immense potential as a nature lover's paradise. I can only imagine how breathtaking the views would be on a clear day. I would highly recommend planning a visit during more favorable weather to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of this remarkable location.

Despite the foggy conditions, my trip to the Babinda Boulders was a memorable one. The combination of nature's grandeur, the mystical atmosphere, and the rich cultural heritage make it a destination worth exploring. Don't let the rain deter you; embrace the enigmatic allure and let the Babinda Boulders cast its spell on you.

Note: This review is based on my personal experience at Babinda Boulders on a rainy day and reflects my genuine opinion. I recommend checking the weather forecast before planning your visit to ensure optimal conditions for enjoying the scenic beauty.

A beautiful place to swim. A park and shelter, great for families or birthday parties. Swim only in the designated area, don't venture off into the rocks as it's a dangerous place to swim.

such unique scenes. You have to swim in the freshwater here, it is so clear and refreshing and tranquil. Not as rocky as other spots so you’re not constantly fumbling around. Cute little picnic benches and bbqs all around for lunch. Nice little trails to visit a couple of lookouts. I loved this spot!

Great spot for a small 600m hike with a great view of the boulders. Then you can cool down in the swim pool area afterwards.
