Oshin Japanese Restaurant

When I met with my two friends for lunch. We went upstairs and were excited, looking through the menu with so much choice.
All the tables were reserved.
The food was devine and scrumptious.
Good selection of drinks, too.
The atmosphere was great. Lots of chatter and laughter.
Good crowd and not rowdy.
Thoroughly recommend meeting family and friends for lunch.
Close to public transport.

Oshin is a little gem of Japanese restaurant right in the heart of the CBD. We have dined here on several occasions for dinner and found the food to be consistently fresh and cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious.
Good selection on the menu and prices are reasonable. Service is good and the owners Tracy and Gary are friendly, customer focus with a team of capable and efficient wait staff.
We love their bento boxes (good variety of items to choose from) and also have thoroughly enjoyed the plum course which is delectable as well value for money.
We have now made Oshin one of our favourite restaurants for dining out….

Nice Japanese food. Great environment.
The sashimi is fresh. Unagi is recommended. But the bento rice portion is small.

Don't be fooled by their small entrance to the 2nd floor. Once seated, you will be presented by the warmth and comfortable seating of this relatively small restaurant. Food however, is amazing and reasonable. Service is both professional and swift. Sashimi and sushi is fresh and portions are very generous with thick slices of fish. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back to try other food on the menu.

Favourite restaurant in Brisbane. It’s so good you could be in Sydney..or Japan even! Great value too and they have cold Yebisu cans served in a COLD glass.

Enjoyed a cozy family dinner at a welcoming spot, complete with a reservation. A girl with koala earrings was especially kind to us. The cold sake, gyoza, karaage, and hand rolls were delightful.

Excellent Japanese restaurant. Authentic and exclusive feel. Unless you’ve been introduced you wouldn’t really know how much of a hidden gem this place is. Always busy, extensive menu, one of my go-to’s in the city! 🥰

Fresh and fantastic food! A great selection of authentic Japanese dishes in a peaceful restaurant. The service is excellent and the set menus provide excellent value for money.

Last month was a great experience, all the Japanese dish we tried are so delicious the flavours are so original. Highly recommended to try their Large sashimi and the vegetable tempura.

Nice quiet hidden spot for lunch or dinner. You don’t get much road noise because of the upstairs location and there’s soothing music piped in. Decor is dated but relaxing. Got the Plum set for 3 people at $30 each and there was a lot of food. Simple stuff like fried crab cakes, sashimi, chawanmushi, miso soup, a main and green tea ice cream. Food was good but not excellent. It’s still a good place for a meal though

I went there with my husband on Christmas eve. We order a promotion set. Dishes were served one by one from entree to dessert. Great quality of food! Moreover, the restaurant gave me an authentic Japanese atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

We recently had a luncheon for 10 people. The food was delicious, served promptly and courteously. Stacey couldn't have been more helpful. She allowed us to decorate our table, and bring a cake, which she was happy to serve up, lit with candles and accompanied by plates. The service was outstanding. 10/10

The food was lovely and place felt nice to be in. The staff were all friendly making our time there more comfortable. Very happy to return here again.

Excellent value for what might be my favourite lunching spot. You can get a decent bottle of wine under $40, always a bonus for me!

Love the ambience, food and friendly staff. Fresh sashimi and beautiful bento food. Light and crispy karaage, silky chawanmushi, appetizing salad, charred yakitori and lovely vegetable tempura.

Special place for me I always remembered eating here where my I told my husband we're having a baby, and craving for Japanese food that time. And the food they served here are so delicious and the black sesame icecream are so good here.

Authentic local style, this restaurant could have been plucked straight from a side street in Tokyo. The best Tempura I have had in a long time; very fresh vegetables and a delicate crisp that melts in the mouth. Beautifully simple decor and very friendly staff. I will be back.
