Gan-Gani Community Kindergarten​

Gan Gani exemplifies everything that is great about Community Kindergarten. The Kindy and staff are totally focused on each childs experiance and development. They are kind, caring and warm. More than 'just play' the teachers really prepare each child for the transition to Prep. My son loves going to kindy each day and is never ready for home time. From starting in pre-prep at age 3 and a half and being quite shy he's now star of show and tell, has a 'bestest friend forever' and is always telling us something he's learnt or done at Kindy, As well as being an amazing Kindy it's also just so exciting I feel like every week there is something... baby chickens, tadpoles, a new garden, bees, police and firefighter visits, special festivals and events. I can't imagine better.

My child was happy and excited to go to Gan Gani EVERY single day that she attended! It was so beautiful to witness. Drop off were so easy and quick which was not the case at the long day care she attended before. The Gan Gani teachers and educators are all super caring and engaged with the kids. I felt completely at peace leaving my daughter there for the day knowing all the children were beautifully looked after. I highly recommend this kindy. I wish all the kids could have a kindy year like the one my daughter had. And it goes without saying that her younger sibling will also attend this magical place 😊

Both of my children attended this amazing Kindergarten and if I had any more they would be going here also! This is such a beautiful kindy equipped with rich learnings, natural surroundings, inclusive practices and awesome teaching staff. Absolutely ALL families are welcome and the children really do thrive being a 'Gan Gani Kid'.

This review is long overdue. We attended Gan Gani last year (2020). We have discovered this kindy while looking to buy a house in Fig Tree Pocket. I remember driving pass and said it out loud that I am buying a house here and she will attend kindy there (pointing at Gan Gani), it’s perfect!

We never bought a house in Fig Tree Pocket but with an aftercare partnership with Montessori school next door was my draw card despite my biggest concern; traffic going in and out of Fig Tree Pocket. The entire year of drop off and pick up from Chapel Hill, I never once stuck in traffic, it was great. Its green leafy surrounds gave us an energy boost and tranquility every time. Happy days.

Quality of Gan Gani’s early year education is indeed difficult to articulate. It is in every detail and everything they do. Starting from daily flower arrangement to greet you at the sign in table, a display of what’s on for the day/week to engage parents in their program. Partnered with Queensland Museum to use its museum specimens as education tools that’s rotates every fortnight. I would never forget the sea turtles in 3 different size and a turtle egg which are all REAL! In the following couple of weeks, the lead educator Therese expanded the topic to include other reptile family animals in the class.

It was teachers appreciation day, I bought them flowers as gift. That day, they read a book about kindness. They value children’s opinion, together they explore and extend their topics of interest. They have engaged and supported everyone’s individual needs. They have inspire me how I do flowers by incorporating natural material from our surrounds to bring outdoor in. Their genuine appreciation for nature filtered through into their teachings; flowers, bees, birds, and insects., etc. They make scramble eggs laid from their chicken. They make bread every Friday. They incorporated recycling food waste for the worm farm/chicken, soft plastics to return to supermarkets, and containers for change. Introducing safety from fire brigade, police officers and construction project within the kindy. Embracing cultural diversity by inviting visitors from different backgrounds. They use every opportunity as an education topics. I can go on... I understand everyone follows education guidelines and framework. To me application is key and what they do, makes a difference.

I was lucky to discover this place and was curious how others has discovered Gan Gani. Locals knows from word of mouth, people from outside the suburb was lucky to have friends who has been there. All of them I have spoken to can’t rave enough about how much they like the kindy and we all wish we have discovered this place sooner to save us from our experience elsewhere. I almost slit my wrist when I knew they take kids from 3 years old. As a working mom, if you think long day care is your only option, think again. Kindy is truly where quality lies and this one especially. I am on the waitlist for my 2nd child and we are eager to get back.

We loved our year @ Gan Gani, most of the Kindy's we looked at were pretty similar (and they all looked lovely mind you), the reason we picked Gan Gani was the location is surrounded by open grass paddocks & horses (with little traffic).. they also have vege gardens and a chicken coop for the kids to collect eggs.

The Kindy has only has 1 class there each day (most kindys had 2 per day), so the kids own all of the indoor & outdoor space.

It is a jewish kindy, but its not a huge part of it, but it is there (we arent religious at all), Colleen & Sally are both lovely and compassionate teachers & im always impressed how they sneak in learning amongst the fun!

A beautiful, kind and nurturing kindergarten. The teachers are highly experience and you can perceive that they love and enjoy their job. Admin team always helpful and approachable. It is a community Kindy with families from diverse backgrounds making it a rich experience for our kids and parents.

Our daughter spend two wonderful years at Gan Gani. She absolutely loved it and really didn't have a day she wasn't existed to go to kindy. The staff were both professional and caring and we developed a real sense of community with all the "kindy friends" and kindy mums and dads. Although sad to leave Gan Gani, we feel it's really setup my daughter up for school. Thanks for everything, Gan Gani.

Absolutely fabulous kindy! I've had children at the kindy for the past 3 years and am about to start my 3rd child next year. Couldn't praise them more highly. Wonderful, nurturing staff and beautiful surrounds! Love it!

This community kindy in the heart of Fig Tree Pocket is fabulous. The teachers, setting, program, and resources as amazing. And the community of families are friendly and welcoming.

Great Kindy with highly skilled and nurturing teachers and a friendly community. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
