This is a cute wee restaurant, lovely to sit outside, even when it was raining! Fantastic, thoughtfully prepared food and a lovely family atmosphere. Can’t wait to return!

As a family of celiacs on a road trip I can honestly rate Waxen 100%. It was so nice to be able to pop off the highway and be able to get a quick lunch that was tasty, satisfying and affordable. I’d love to stop by again to eat in.

A hidden gem in the middle of the forest. I know Gold Coast overall has really nice Japanese food and this place is definitely beyond my expectations.

All ingredients used for our food were fresh which makes the taste pops.

Price is reasonable and would recon to try the kids Sushi if you dine in with children.

A hidden gem tucked away in West Burleigh. Really fresh and yummy food with welcoming and humble service from the staff. They have done a really great job over the years and I always recommend the Udon with prawns to everyone who goes. I lived in Japan for a couple of years and this is the best I have had in Australia ☺

What a great find this is ! Tucked in a little shopping area, a bit unexpected, but wonderful. The staff were great, the food was brilliant. We had the Wagyu tataki, the Wazen salad, and the chef's special sushi roll. If you're after something non-alcoholic, the Yuzu Fizz is delicious. 5 stars all round !

Absolutely love the food here. Always fresh and enough sauce. Never have I ever been let down by the food. 5 stars for sure! The only down side is there opening hours especially in a Saturday and Sunday.

We had the bao buns, prawn dumplings, chef sushi, tofu teriyaki and the ice cream dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Dinner was amazing. Well presented and the taste was absolutely delicious. The staff where very friendly and polite. We had the tastiest veggie dumplings and the main meal had amazing quality beef and prawns. The portions were large we had left overs. We had the chocolate souffle dessert and it was melting in the inside. Best Japanese I have had on the Gold Coast. Would highly recommend to all friends.

My favourite Japanese on the gold coast. Offer great coeliac options. Food is consistently great and the sushi is always so fresh and tasty.

Delicious freshly cooked Japanese food. The decor is very evocative, and the restaurant spotlessly clean. Service was fast and professional. We enjoyed a couple of waygu beef plates at lunch which were packed with flavourful meat and vegetables. Recommended.

Lovely staff and delicious food! I got the Katsu Bento and the sesame sauce was so なつかしい: took me back to one of my fave places in Suminoe. Thanks Wazen!
