Great overnight free stay on the river with lots of good shopping and coffee

An amazing spot. Use it as a rest stop while travelling from Brisbane to Sydney or Sydney to Brisbane. It’s a great park , with great view and environment. Got parking for campers and small cars. It’s also got a playground for kids. Definitely above and beyond for a town with population of only 7k. Would recommend it if you’re close by or passing through macksville.

Only a short drive from Nambucca Heads so great place to spend the night but the spots do fill up early. I parked up around 6 and got the last spot
Please keep the area tidy so we don’t lose access to spaces like this

It’s a really nice FREE area for one night. Beautiful sunset and nice place to swim. Make sure to know which spaces are allowed for overnight parking.

Quiet. Near shore. Nice views

Great place for picnic or taking a break and relaxing. Stopped here for Lunch on the way to Brisbane from Sydney. Literally 10 seconds of the main road but didn't feel like as if you were in such a busy congested place. Rather felt very calm and peaceful. The facilities were also very clean that day.

Macksville Lions Park. A fabulous overnight stay spot if you are travelling in your camper van or caravan. The most amazing views over the river, clean toilets as well!! Be aware there is only 3 bays for caravans/campers vans (shaded in blue on the photo) this is not clear if you arrive in the dark, we wondered why we were being photographed by the house opposite (45) only to see that we were parked in a boat trailer bay when the sun came up in the morning 😁

Limited o/night spaces ,level ,safe and within walking distance from the town .

My favourite rest spot between Sydney and Gold Coast, by the water with a jetty, playground, clean toilets, BYO food and drinks.

Beautiful spot, shall return when the weather is clear to go kayaking. Clean area and facilities.

Stayed the night was a brilliant little stop over in the van, just make sure to park between the signs

Stayed for a night in the correct space 3 spaces only for self contained vans n rvs by late afternoon there must have been over a dozen parked in the boat trailer bays sadly if that keeps happening they will close it down

Absolutely beautiful. Great place for overnight. Also walk across bridge to town for shopping. You can see the view of both sides of river.

Kind of small boat ramp but there is a nice sandy beach 20m up river

A friendly, serene rest stop. While we DO SPEND MONEY in town, the allocated van parking spots is now reduced, NOT POLICED, so cars, wizbangs, box trailers, hog these RARE van parking spots, forcing us to move on out of town.

Absolutely beautiful and great for the kids to play and do a bit of fishing or swimming! Plenty of shaded seating and lots of parking for any and all vehicles, caravan or boat. River walks or over the bridge and grab a ice cream perfect family day.

Right on the foreshore of Macksville. Has provision for three overnight caravan parking as well as provision for under 6.5m self-contained vehicles to the left of boatramp.
Park is nicely layed out with ample seating. Toilets were clean.
Thankyou Lions for providing this service for travellers, could you please place donations box in vicinity? Unless I overlooked it.

Macksville is a lovely spot to stop just off the highway. Some nice little food shops and the park is a nice spot to eat your lunch.
